Zion trading card values tanking

His marketing value is shot, too. When was the last time you saw Zion on a commercial?

He’s become the poster child of the fat lazy instaporn-addict Gen Z community

Not too surprising. He’s not particularly likable on or off the court. Limited game. Limited personality. Poor role model. Barely plays. Has never played a meaningful game in the nba. Not a winner. More of a meme/joke than an inspiration. No real reason to collect or invest in his future.

Whats funny is coming out of Duke he was the exact opposite of this. He was a marketing darling. I mean we got all those national televised games in his rookie year.

When the contract runs up, they won't renew it.

How funny that class was once so promising to only have Darius garland as the jewel of it all

You mean the guy Griffin didn’t think was good enough so he traded that pick to get off Solomons contract and draft Hayes and Walker?? Smh.

I give Zion credit for keeping his head down, not complaining publicly, etc. I love that he plugs away privately. But it doesn't work for marketing because he's neither a hero nor a villain. It doesn't make sense to schedule national TV games or national ads when there's always doubt about availability.

If he played the hed be fine. He's still a draw and people want to see him play, he just needs actually play for long stretches.

I’ve always stuck up for him but his a fat, lazy entitled AAU loser. Dude has been in the league 6 years, is always hurt and has not added one thing to his game. What a waste.

We're talking about Zion Williamson, not Zion Williams.

It’s the original sin of the rebuild, and griff has been struggling to cleanup that miss ever since. We’ve never had enough shooting on the roster at any point in time during the Zion era. Garland was the best shooter in his class. We could have stood pat and just drafted the best shooter in the draft each year since 2019 and would be in a much better position.

But I think griff gets off on trading the same pick multiple times to yield nothing of consequence.

I really hope Zion is silently working right now to prove all you nerds wrong.

You hope that but you also know its probably not true. And you know I’m right. If Zion was built that way- we wouldn’t be in this mess.

He still sounds immature and silly when he talks

You do realize this is basketball and not NASA, right?

Oh yeah for sure, he definitely has a track record of that lol. My guess is he’s out until February and comes back out of shape and then gets shut down toward the end because you know…history

Whats really frustrating is for any other all star, you wouldn’t have to hope, you would just know they’re silently working hard. With Zion, you’re not really sure if he’s working so you have to hope he’s working. I want him to comeback and play great but I don’t think he takes basketball seriously for someone making so much money.

He should be MAKING 500 elbow jumpers each day.

A rebounder and a passer and him. All day long. From each elbow. Per day.

It would change his game. They’d have to respect it. Then he could unleash what he should be.

I blame some of this non persistence on management.

Yup, he switched up on us pretty badly once he hit some minor adversity with a meniscus injury. Never quite been the same human after that.
