Plenty of percocet and stool softener available. Anyone have any good recovery stories?

Was your pain in the front of the shoulder or on top of the shoulder?

Do all the rehab. Did mine about 15 years ago and it has been nothing but a champ since then

Mine is better then before injury. Thypapy and do pain meds at least first few weeks. Don’t let pain catch up to you, lots of ice.

When you are done and can start PT, the small muscles in your shoulder are gonna be atrophied.

Do not be afraid to overtrain the frick out of your shoulder. I don’t mean crazy lifting but get on the bands and movements and go to work.

It’s gonna hurt and be sore but just push through. The volume is gonna get your shoulder back up and running.

Supraspinatus muscle. Couldn't reach behind me. Torn 3/4 of the length.

When that nerve block wears off, hold on! It’s gonna burn like a MF.

Also, sleep in a recliner. It helps

This was my experience when I had mine done in 2013. For the first few weeks you will likely have the arm in a sling to immobilize it and I found that sleeping in a recliner with a pillow between my body and arm really helped me get some decent rest. If in a bed you may try to turn over from habit while sleeping and that will not feel good.

When you finally get to PT, do what they say and do it as good as you can while there. They won't give you more than you can or should do and increase the exercises in duration and complexity as you heal better.

My repaired shoulder is better than ever and have a full range of motion like before.

Hanging fixes it. Search YouTube. You’re welcome.

Be patient and careful.

It'll come back and you'll be jacking jaws again in no time.

Mine was a long time ago, and not bad enough to need surgery. But I still remember what it felt like.

NOLA PT here who owns a couple clinics in the area. Happy to answer your questions if it’s helpful.

I’ve had multiple surgeries on both knees, one surgery on each arm. My rotator cuff surgery hurt worse than any of them. Make sure you do the therapy because if not you will wish you did. Also take your pain meds even if you think you don’t need them. You have to stay ahead of the pain

Had arthroscopic shoulder surgery for a torn labrum about 5 years ago. Post-op pain in the recovery room was pretty bad but then they gave me a Dilaudid shot and I felt like a new man

10 year survivor here. The rehab pushers are 100% correct as are the recliner peeps. Here is my story, take heed. When I went in to have the sling and the pillow removed the doctor simply removed them without holding my arm. My arm just fell to my side and I thought I was going to pass out. He had to lay me down and bring cold wash rags. That was way more painful than any other thing.
