LSU's Brian Kelly was on the SEC Coaches Teleconference Wednesday morning and was asked if they have considered making a change at quarterback with Garrett Nussmeier's recent struggles over the last two games.
Kelly made it clear they are sticking with Nussmeier but knows they need to get some things fixed.
Shades of a Les Miles decision..........

Les had a competent backup. What has Rickie shown you to make the change?

Nothing, but neither had Tua when Nick put him in when Alabama was not performing. Up to them he was an unknown.

Garrett Nussmeier has lived long enough to go from the backup everybody clamored for to the starter everybody wants benched for the backup.

So you don’t know what you’re talking about. Tua had played in 7 games & thrown 8 TDs before putting him into the National Championship game.

Don't you know? At LSU, the backup is always the best player and only isn't playing because the coach is "stubborn."
I remember getting downvoted into oblivion when we lost to FSU last year for disagreeing with people who said "Nuss is clearly better."

I joined in 2009 and since then there has been maybe 4.75 seasons we didn’t have constant threads about the backup.
2012 and 2013 with Mett
2018 and 2019 with Joe
and then 3/4 of 23 with Jayden

Yep. My favorite line is the one where people who have not seen a single rep in practice adamantly stating that they know for a fact x player is better than y player.

A true failure, from title to post.

I trust BK that he knows which QB gives us the best chance to win games. The backups must not be that great. Thankfully we have a phenom coming in next year

Let me try this.
My point is : if you we are doing is not working, why not try something else.
Does that make sense ?

Tua was not an unknown to Saban

There were threads weekly in 2018 calling for Brennen.

Honestly, if we had a real spread offense and has seen a QB run a read option people would have been clamoring for Jarrod Randall in 2012 when Mett was struggling.

I don't know about starting Collins but having a read option Package that they could run at certain times would be beneficial to get Nuss on the sideline fir a few plays and settle down and see what the defense is doing from another prospective. Also give the defnse a different look.Think Mickey Guidry and Tommy Hodson.

Its the something else that we can clearly see with our own eyes, thats not working
Missed blocking assignments (check)
Constant OLine penalties (check)
WR not getting separation (check)
Obvious use of personnel packages in play calling (check)
Dropped passes (check)
Clock mismanagement (check)
Routes constantly run short of the sticks (check)
Retarded RZ play calls (check)
No creativity in playcalling (check)
But an untested QB is going to fix all that in game 10? Kinda like how Marcel Reed fixed it for A&M. Until he didnt
