Micro Clover Lawn...Good idea or Sacrilege?

I was just doing some reading and came across this. Seems like an interesting possibility for certain circumstances.
Anyone ever tried it? Is it possible in Louisiana to get an entire "lawn" of clover throughout the summer?

I don’t know what micro clover is but my yard is covered with patches of white clover thru the winter and spring. It looks great and the bees love it

I'm not sure microcliver could take the heat in La. Horseherb would be a good substitute

I would never aim at having one type of weed as a yard. Grass is essentially just the most successful weeds, so I wouldn’t try to compete with them

I don’t know what you mean by “micro clover”. But if you mean the little cloverleaf with little yellow flowers, that is wood sorrel and it dies in the hot part of the summer….in fact, I think most all clover dies during the summer.

I overseed a good portion of my yard with crimson clover in the fall. They won’t do much over winter but they explode in the spring. It does a good job of choking out spring weeds then when it dies back due to heat in the summer the grass will flourish. It’s not a great option for replacing lawn but is great to use as I mentioned above. Sort of like a cover crop. It is also good at amending the soil if you have clay like I do - adds a little nitrogen and helps with compaction. You can mow it high to keep it somewhat maintained or just let it go crazy until it dies back in the summer.

Why in the world would you want a yard full of clover?

I wonder the same thing about people that want a yard full of grass.
I hate mowing, and actively seek ways to have less grass to mow.
