A handful of you guys were a huge help on a post or two about my new Ram 1500 Limited

Cheers to the few who suggested the 295 Toyo At3. What a great fricking set of tires. Worth every penny

Now, to be quick. First. Grill guards. Not a fan in general. My local dodge dealership pushes alot of rough country merch and i gotta say I haven’t seen a guard that’d make me want to cover up the front of a new Ram. Now, there are some Fab Fours steel bumper combos that look damn good with the winch setup (@ $3k a clip). Any practical suggestions? Im in a super rural area where deer cremate cars/trucks regularly

Ok second, headlight upgrades. This is obviously a vanity thing but I’ve seen some replacements that look SHARP. I really like the sequential turning signal for some reason. Just trying not to Chad my truck out too much

Form Lighting has a pretty good looking pair for $1k with supposed OE quality

Is this pissing money away at that price point? I’d certainly be open to comparable brands that look as good for a few less bucks

Thanks fellas

How are you liking that Ram? I am in need of a new truck and leaning F150 with 5.0. Toyed with the idea of a Titan XD being that it comes standard with 6.5ft bed which is a must for me.

Thought crossed my mind on a Ram with the Hemi.

Yea I know, I saw Ford is actually cutting MSRP prices on the 2025 so going to limp my GM for another year and buy at the end of 25.

If my plan back fires I'll just buy a used XD, you can get them cheap when pre owned.

I’m older than dirt and have had several Fords and GM trucks and suvs. I bought a new Ram three years ago and now have 120k miles. Not a single issue. By far the best truck I’ve ever owned. I know people shite on Ram here as I once thought but I’ve been proven wrong

Their profit margin is huge on RC and RC quality is shite. They start with crappy materials and then have absolutely 0 quality control - and that's just on their "normal" stuff. Their lifts are downright dangerous. Their welds constantly break or pieces completely snap.

My only suggestion is that you get at least 1/4" steel. Stay away from the 1/8" (3mm) .

Another thing to consider is that you also may need heavy duty springs if you have a heavy steel grill and winch.

I always liked Ranch Hand bumpers.

If you mess with your lights, make sure they aren't blinding everyone else on the road.

I went with a Westin grill guard. Liked the way it looked and did not completely cover up the grill on my 2500 Ram.

If you're worried about deer, make sure you get something that's actually designed to defend against animal strikes (the Aussies seem to have this down). Some of those "brush guards" are pretty flimsy and can cause more damage across the whole width of the vehicle when they're impacted.

I own 8 of them. All 22 models and newer. From 1500 to 5500 and every one in between.

We put 50,000 miles a year on average on trucks- and beat the snot out of them.

Until something changes, we’ll keep with Ram.

Acadiana Dodge is the cat’s arse, btw- if you are buying in Louisiana. Highly recommend- Jeremy Hull is the truck guy there.

As a titan driver, avoid the 22-24s complaints of poor quality.

Having said that, I flash tuned mine last week. More HP and torque now than GMs 6.2....in an engine that revs like a damned sports car.

0-60 went from 5.8 to a blip over 5.2 Words cannot express the level of suprise when you launch it

Well dang, what are the main quality complaints on?

I would have pulled the trigger on an new XD earlier this year but the smallish back seat turned me off being I have two kids and need room for them and gear.

To be fair, the complaints are all stupid things ford, dodge, and gm also have. Odd squeaks, a couple of dolks have had brakes wear out under 50k. Random window switch issues. Odd given I replaced mine at 150k and honestly... They looked great.

Honestly, I've gotten spoiled. To this day, the least reliable vehicle I've had has been a third gen 4runner And I was just pissy because the rear shocks failed.

As a guy who's 300lbs... Wtf are you feeding them boys that the back seat is small If you mean the floor area, it is smaller than the ford. No way around it, the f150 has an odd amount of room in front of the rear seats.

To the OP, hardcore offroad

This guy has built a winch bumper for my last 6 vehicles. His bumpers are bomb proof. My last one killed at least 5 dear in 320k miles. The fastest impact was a big doe right to a corner at about 75 mph. Zero marks.

Pro tip, get it bare metal. Use the double coat semi gloss spray paint. You can then touch up super easy and it'll apways look great.
