Main Card

Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic Title Fight
Charles Oliveira vs. Michael Chandler
Viviane Araujo vs. Karine Silva
Bo Nickal vs. Paul Craig
Chris Weidman vs. Eryk Anders

Undercard

Mauricio Ruffy vs. James Llontop
Jonathan Martinez vs. Marcus McGhee
Jim Miller vs. Damon Jackson
Mickey Gall vs. Ramiz Brahimaj
Oban Elliott vs. Bassil Hafez
Veronica Hardy vs. Eduarda Moura
Marcin Tybura vs. Jhonata Diniz

very top heavy card here. Can Bo Nickal continue his rise and defeat a guy that has suprisingly beat alot of really good fighters but never really got on a run.
craig has beat
ankalaev
rountree
jamahal hill
krylov
shogun

chandler vs oliviera is the rematch we didnt know we needed. the first fight was razor close to chandler finishing him in the 1st round and then charles ko's him out of nowhere in the 2nd. say what you want about chandler but the guy is never in a boring fight. charles is coming off a split decision loss which I thought he won. should be a great fight. leaning charles, I still think charles has some juice in the tank.

jones vs miocic. alot of people crying about this one but I like the way the UFC has handled this. both guys are legends of the sport and imo can choose how they decide to go out after this fight. Dana has said he will do what he has to do to make the aspinall fight. Jones has expressed interest in the poatan fight. Im fine with either to be honest. should jones win, the fight against poatan will likely be up there with mcgregor khabib in hype. back to the fight, I am interested to see how this fight plays out. stipe obviously has great hands and he has handled wrestlers pretty well. jones is very good at everything but I dont know if he has the ko power to put stipe out. can stipe piece him up on the feet and keep jones from winning the grappling exchanges? will be interesting to see, but jones just knows how to win.

Stipe should have retired. He has other things in life, he has had some eye issue, why keep going? Yes I know, he's a competitor etc, but you need to pull the cord at some point. And, it's been pointed out that in his last fight, as he walked to the octagon, he didn't look like he could move very well, then got starched. He did things the right way and worked his arse off. Getting knocked off the mountain by Francis was the natural order of things, and that was the time to call it a career and move on.

I don't think this goes well and I think Jones finishes him in Round 1 - take down, ground and pound, KO or TKO. Game over. Either that or attempted take down, up against the cage, clinch, elbows, damage, knees, damage, out like a light, game over. I hope I'm wrong, but it just seems like Stipe should have taken the exit ramp by now.

I think Chandler wins his rematch. Nickal wins.

Mickey Gall - now there's a name I've not heard in a long, long time. (it seems)

ETA - Weidman should have retired long ago, IMO. He was a champ, had that bad injury. Surprised to see him still fighting.

he got knocked out by francis, that could happen to anyone. 7 months earlier he beat DC. outside of the francis loss, who he also beat btw, he has 1 loss to dc in his last 9 fights. why should he retire based off 1 loss to a guy that he already beat and who is one of the most powerful guys ever to fight.

Really torn on this one. My sister is really good friends with Michael Chandler's wife and Michael so I root for him because she said he is a super nice guy. But man I love me some Oliviera. Outside of Nunes and Nate Diaz, possibly my favorite fighter to watch. Both guys coming off a loss, should be a good one.

I’d imagine this fight will be by far his biggest payday

Francis was the new lion, Stipe was the old lion. Stipe rag-dolled him the first time because Francis couldn't wrestle. When Francis got just a little take down defense, that was a wrap. Stipe was never going to beat Francis at that point. That is the natural order, like the Bulls finally getting past the Pistons. That was the time for Stipe to walk away.

As for DC, DC was the old lion as well, and he should have been at HW all those years prior to Stipe's rise. He went to LHW because Cain was HW and Cain could never change weight classes.

I believe you either go out on top, like Khabib, or GSP, or once you're knocked off the mountain, you call it. How many years has it been since Stipe was in there? Long time. Great career and I think we should remember him for that career and him being at his peak. I feel like we are going to see a shadow of his former self this week.

I hope I'm wrong, but I see this going badly for Stipe.

I remember reading that Jones notoriously does not do that well for PPV numbers. I don't know why. But I'm with you, I think it might be huge numbers for this one. I hope so, for the fighters that get a share of that pie.

I don't think he's cracked a million ppv if I remember correctly.

I wonder if a bit of that is people not wanting to buy something when they know Jones is probably going to win?

Outside of the McGregor fight I don't think Khabib did that well either.

Conor was such a draw. When you look at unofficial PPV buy rankings he has like 7 or 8 of the top ten. That is insane.

He cracks 6-700K often, though, and that's not an easy feat.

Crazy that Rashad and Rampage did 1 mill+

ufc doesnt really have any big ppv stars right now, so Jon is at the top of the list thats why dana is sucking up to him.

Peak UFC ppv was 2008-2014 in my opinion.

Randy Couture
BJ Penn
George St. Pierre
Rampage
Chuck Liddel
Lyoto Machida
Matt Hughes

Just a few of the names from that awesome era.

PPV stars right now(only champios, there are more):

Ilia Topuria
Alex Pereira
Islam Makhachev
Tom Aspinall (who holds the shortest fight time in UFC history)

If the UFC promoted Tom Aspinall more instead of Jon Jones, it could create a fresh and exciting new PPV star. Aspinall has the potential to bring a lot of energy and new fans into the fold, especially with his impressive performance in the cage

Topuria isnt a star yet. He is a great talent but he has had two big fights. Hardcore fans certainly respect him but i dont think he is a needle mover with casual fans yet. Beating up Max was great, but he needs to do a little bit more to get over with fans.

Poatan, yes of course. Islam is kinda the standard bearer for the dagestani's now. But people kinda know what to expect and i dont know how much excitement that brings unless there is a hyped opponent. Like im not really looking to pay 75 to watch Islam wrestle a guy to the ground and hold him there.

Tom Aspinall is exciting and can draw attention. I think he would be a huge star already if the UFC wasnt protecting Jones.

I’d say that is the big 4 as champions.
