This 2024 presidential election marked the 10th presidential election I have been alive for. I was born in 1987, my first election was in 1988, but the first election I have actual memories of was the 1992 election.

1. 1988: Republican win
2. 1992: Democrat win (circled Clinton's picture at our school "election")
3. 1996: Democrat win
4. 2000: Republican win
5. 2004: Republican win
6. 2008: Democrat win (first election I could vote, voted for Bob Barr [Libertarian])
7. 2012: Democrat win (voted for Romney)
8. 2016: Republican win (didn't vote)
9. 2020: Democrat win (didn't vote)
10. 2024: Republican win (voted for Trump)

Just curious.

What changed and made you vote Trump this time but didn’t vote in 16 or 20?

1. I was too lazy to vote absentee in 2016 and 2020
2. I wasn't a fan of Trump the man but came to the conclusion that THIS election was the point of no return. I live in a swing state (Georgia) so I was motivated to vote because I knew that my vote in '24 would count for more than it ever has.

First election I remember was Nixon v McGovern.

Voted for Reagan in '84.

*by the way - One time (voting in primaries & general elections since ‘84) I wasn’t asked for my ID. Once.

First time I was old enough to vote was in 88' and I voted for BUSH.
I have voted Republican in every election ... sort of.

I voted for McCain and Romney not knowing they were Dems in desguise. But you get my point.

I vaguely remember Carter getting elected but I vividly remember the reaction of Reagan getting elected and the hostages being freed.

Fixed... I did go into the voting booth with my mother when I was 14 though. I would have voted Reagan.

Been alive since the 72 Nixon landslide.

Started voting in 92. Grew up in an old school liberal family and we all voted for slick Willie.

Started voting Republican in 2012.
