The problem is not totally Nuss

Everyone wants to put all the blame on him. He does need to run more. And he has a habit of trusting his arm too much. But LSU has no run game to speak of which, I think puts pressure on Nuss to try to make something happen. And he does seem to want to “grip it and rip it” with lots of deep throws. Interceptions are terrible and he throws them which makes everyone think he is the problem.

don't look now but you are arguing the case against Nuss

No, it’s not all on Nuss. But his play has become toxic.

60/40 share between Sloan and Nuss if I had to put a number on it

Nuss gets blame, the O-line gets blame, the OC gets blame and BK gets blame. The play calls are bad and when they have decided to run certain RBs at times this year has been bad too. The WRs drop too many passes as well. It"s all a recipe for disaster against talented teams.
But Nuss' decision-making is just really poor at times even when our O-line is blocking well for him. He tries to go for the longer passes instead of what he should take underneath (or passes when he should just take off and run). It's not all on him at all, but he is part of the the problem.

this is mind boggling to me, Les must have left a playbook in his old office and Sloan stumbled on it and thinks Kelly meant for him to use it

Good / bad teams can almost always be traced back to QB play.
We are so far removed from the talking point about Nussmeier being able to run. He cannot pass right now. Running would not do anything.

Stop making excuses for Nussmeier. He's a one dimensional, fundamentally flawed Qb who makes stupid decisions, with a propensity for turnovers at very inopportune times.

Our center is lost and shows no development, missed blocks and fricks up the snap causing a false start every single game

UGA is basically having the same issue with Beck.

Nuss is a symptom of a bigger problem… Kelly

The problem isn't Nussmeier.
The problem is that we need Nussmeier to be great to succeed.
Nussmeier isn't an All-American type. He's flawed. Imperfect.
He's still the only chance we have to win games. He's carrying this offense as much as he's capable of carrying this offense. There's no running game. And, the WRs are average.

Nuss now has thrown in just 9 games the same amount of interceptions as Burrow did in two years and twice the number that jd5 threw in two seasons. I do not recall any of these picks being outstanding plays by the opposing defense, i may be missing one though.
Now this begs for the question, is LSU or any program obligated to continue to play this guy praying he improves his decision making, or do you owe it to the team to go in another direction? It was appalling that we stuck with him last night once the game was already decided.

He's trying to do too much because he has to.

90% of his interceptions have been completely preventable and stupid. You cannot blame the lack of a run game on throwing it right into the hands of a defender instead of throwing it away or taking a sack (A&M)

He has a lot of learning to do still, as most first year qbs do. He has the tools.
That said, his OL now actually sucks pass blocking, and never could run block. #79 is a huge liability at Center, and this heralded OL is not what it was supposed to be. Davis?
Our Defense is very limited, and outside of Alexander the backfield sucks.....linebackers are slow and are out of position often, and the DL is very thin........
Our WR room is very, very average, and has a lot of trouble getting separation from SEC teams...Lacy has size, but not great speed and drops a lot of passes....the others, some are fast, but short and not physical at all. You add all that up, and we are fortunate to be 6-3.
Not to mention, BK is clueless, and our OC is WAY over his head.
It isn't all Nuss, it is a team effort.

That play specifically reminded me of T-Bob...who reminded me of Otis in the Superman the Movie. those catlike reflexes...

Nuss has not hit open WR's all year.
It's funny cause his longest passing plays are due to the WR's making great plays on short throws and making them into long gains lmao.
But yes, lets blame the WR's for not catching balls thrown out of bounds
