After watching last nights game I was really impressed, and yes I know it’s ULM we played. The young guys and transfers are actually as good as advertised and I really like our depth. I’ve been critical of coach Mac and rightfully so cause I really want us to win. These guys played hard, shared the ball, and we look light we might have a couple who can really stretch the floor for us. I was worried about the rebounding and interior because of our lack of size but it didn’t seem to be an issue. These guys played hard and with a ton of energy and I walked away feeling the talent is there to make the tourney. Coach really needs to battle for a tourney spot this year. Miller and Givens need to start, Givens really impressed me and I like what Carter bro ga to the table. Overall, at the very least these guys are fun to watch, I’m really looking forward to the next game.

Lmao I have no clue, he’s a very weird guy to figure out lmao. You know what seemed to be different than last year? We look like we start the offense early, we have a lot of guys who can take it to the rim, and the vision of our guards at as a whole. They seemed to spot the open man which is one thing we sucked at doing last year

Coach is all business this year

I hope your right Jim, I know it was ulm and this might come back to bite me in the arse, but it felt diffrent than his previous years. All this and victorious didn’t even play particularly well, and most ppl say he’s the most talented freshman we have

Did Reed put on so some weight, he looked like he gained some muscle and not like a skinny lil bitch this year? He was impressive, hope it wasn’t a mirage lol

A friend told me that Reed weighed 245 lbs, at the start of practice. He'll need all of it for SEC play.

In the presser, he said he dressed up to honor an old coaching mentor of his who passed away last week. The mentor gifted McMahon the tie early in his career.
He’ll be back to casual attire next game.
If nothing else, McMahon is in better shape than tPear

i wouldn't characterize him as skinny since his freshman year.
he gained a lot of weight going into his sophomore year. i think our old strength coach was big on bulking guys up and adding size but lacked in the areas of plyometrics and functional strength. (he is now the s&c coach for nebraska football if that tells you anything)
i think the biggest difference in reed's body is how toned and defined he looks. it's muscle that is there for a purpose outside of just raw size.

Very impressed…. Wow

We have solid depth enough where we can rotate players freely and really turn up the intensity on defense. I’d love to see a full court press instituted often this year.
I think you will see a very balanced team that gets better as the year progresses, with Reed becoming a legit ALL-SEC caliber player.

What starting lineup would you guys like to see? As of right now I’m feeling givens, Carter, Bailey, Reed and Williams III

Only thing is SEC basketball is slowly becoming like baseball. Every week is a murder’s row of opponents.

Replace givens with sears

Josh you didn’t like givens at PG? I felt like he shined last night
Posted on 11/7/24 at 8:28 pm to Primeminister337
Loved him. But sears is the veteran player and will and should start

i agree with you josh. givens is awesome and should lead the second unit but jordan needs to start

I like givens coming off the bench also. He still has some freshman turnovers but I think he should play big minutes. Especially if he’s hot from 3. He opens the court up which creates opportunities for others. They play hard and they all play defense. Already a better rebounding team than last year. Will find out what we really have against KST but they push the ball and move the ball and play team basketball. Will be fun to watch them grow up.

I feel like If lsu is going to be good this yr they need Sears to be the player everyone thinks he can be.

Really excited with the team as well, only thing bumming me out is not having Ward this season, he had potential to be a star this year
