LSU high school class is all but full with maybe room for a couple more.
Will be interesting to see how that impacts the portal depending on how many LSU loses

Thought the rosters were increasing to 105 players from 85...

I’m pretty sure they went from 85 to 105 scholarship and roster limit.

Let me help you.

Speaking on the SEC coaches teleconference, Freeze said that he’d been informed by Auburn leadership to target 85 scholarships — under the proposed settlement, there will be no scholarship limits, just roster limits — indicating the roster number might be at 85. The current NCAA scholarship limit is 85, and the roster limit for college football was initially reported to be 105.
“Well that’s just what we’ve heard from our presidents,” Freeze said. “That we need to — I don’t know that that’s fact on it’s going to stay there or not. I just think we were told that we should plan and for our signing day plan on it being the 85 number for scholarships. And I don’t know that that means it’s going to stay there but that’s what I’ve been told to try to base it on come December.”
Honestly, it kinda sounds like Freeze is confused. Maybe Auburn is telling him they will only cover 85 scholarships.

Didn’t Nebraska teams in the early 80s have like 200 on the roster? I’m still bitter about that Orange Bowl.

could be Auburn decided to limit themselves to 85 to defray the costs of the settlement. Would put them at a huge disadvantage.

The NCAA can’t change it back now…my son has an offer predicated on the 105 number. No fricking way they do this one month from signing day.

Pretty clear what’s going on here… the “proposed settlement” hasn’t been passed or approved. I think he’s simply saying they’re not moving up to 105 yet & sticking with 85 scholarships for 2025.

The roster limit is going down from 120 to 105, with no scholarship limit.

You’re missing the point. The settlement behind the new roster limits isn’t fully approved yet. The next hearing isn’t even until April.
Best case scenario is that it all gets finalized by summer. Worst case scenario is that a bunch of shite changes and it drags out even further.

The head coach who changed his offer from PWO to full scholarship the day that the 105 number came out contacted us at 5:50 (6:50 his time) this morning wanting my son to flip to them…so maybe he didn’t read it the same as Freeze did. Or maybe they have room at 85…who really knows?
