It's honestly remarkable how much influence the United States has over the world

I was just reading an article that aggregated basically every single world leader on Twitter releasing a statement on the results of last night
Here is the front page of the CBC, BBC, ABC, Le Monde, Times of India, RT, Corriere,
Can go on and on. These are foreign media companies with up to the minute coverage of our election like it was their own
It's pretty amazing to see

That's because all/most are heavily invested in us in some way, shape, or form. We are definitely a "world leader" (if not "the"). So it makes sense.
Plus, IMO having Trump instead of Kamala/another four years of that stupid shite is a pretty huge deal in terms of worldwide affect.

It’s actually not that remarkable if you think about it. Most new ideas music trends entertainment etc come from here. Some bad some good but undeniably cutting edge

I’ve traveled internationally extensively for work for decades, it’s always amazed me at how closely everyone outside the US follows our politics a lot more closely than most of our country does, apathy and non participation are among our biggest problems

I was just thinking about this earlier. The Brits even had an argument in parliament about Trump today. The conservative leader asked the PM if he wants to apologize for bashing Trump.
When a European country elects a new PM, it's barely a blip over here.

A lot of countries probably wouldn’t exist or be prosperous without us, so who our president is affects other countries and people greatly.

During the Bush-Gore hanging chad debacle, I was at Honda Motor's Tochigi Tech Center in a day-long meeting with about 30 top engineers and a couple of senior executives.
With the timezone differences, they interrupted us to announce "Your new President is....". When they had to change it and do it a second time, they were visibly unsettled. The third time around, they were seriously distressed. By end of the day, they were a bunch of long-tailed cats in a room full of rocking chairs, and much extra saki was consumed at the required post-meeting dinner that night.
At that time, something like 60% of Honda's global revenues came from the US. Any uncertainty here is potentially disastrous for companies like that.

I was in Buenos Aires that day, walking around after lunch, three of us, very obviously American and military, BA is a huge city but we couldn’t walk fifty feet without being asked who we voted for and had we heard any updates

We do a great job of never showing our hand. We affect more of the world now than any country prior by 1000X
Everyone talks about our debt, if we default the world goes into a collapse and I can assure you their collapse is far worse than what we would have on our soil.

I mean we were the only country to come out of WW2 economically and militarily stronger than when we went in. We’re still the strongest in that regard. Most of the major international institutions (I.e., the UN and NATO) were supported by and largely funded by the US, which is still true.
Plus the cultural influence from clothes to music to movies to food is unparalleled.

My friend in Australia has been closely following our election because of the influence it has on their elections

I was in Dubai about a year ago talking to a co-worker that is Indian. I asked if he knew about some pop culture reference like the Kardashians or maybe less known. Might have been Joe Rogan.
He was like, of course. America is the center of all pop culture worldwide.
