If you're going to allow early voting why not just keep it open until election day?

What's the point of stopping for a few days before election day?

Early voting is in centralized locations, it takes time to update the precinct logs to indicate who has already voted (absentee and early).

Why follow any rules or procedures normally required for voting... Why not go ahead and vote for 2028?

(absentee and early). are the excuses to lengthen the counting days.

mail in is a new thing derived from absentee to screw with elections.

Hope not but it’s a distinct possibility

Good point. Imagine all of the poll workers for nearly three weeks in NC. Also the schools, firehouses remaining inoperable. It is asinine. PA has to use Churches.

They need to redo this. Make election day a national holiday PAID. Have early voting for maybe a week and end it on the Saturday before the election.

The key is giving working people ONE Saturday and election day off to vote.

In Texas (at least in Denton County) you have to vote in your precinct on Election Day. Not all Election Day precinct sites are early voting sites (as an example, our church - yes, us again - is a precinct site for Election Day but not for early voting).

Because you need the resources and volunteers to be deployed elsewhere on election day and you need time to do that.

My workplace is a polling precinct. It seems they have to shut it down for a day or two to distribute the voting machines from one central location to multiple locations.
