You actually don’t want to be in the SECCG

I don’t think 3 losses is getting in. Some 10-2 is going to make the SECCG, lose and get left out of the playoffs while a couple other 2 loss SEC teams make it.

Possibly.
The flips side is the SECCG gives you the opportunity for an auto bid…regardless of record.

There are no guarantees on top of the fact beating Aggie in Atlanta would give us the bye
I just want in period but it’s not that great missing a chance at the auto bid. We will probably need the rest though earlier.

Depends where we are ranked heading into it.
Say things break out way and we are 10-2 ranked 9 or 10. At that point, the risk of losing isn’t worth it because we are already in
if we are 11-13, it might be worth the risk.
Remember it’s not the top 12 ranked teams that get in. There are 4 auto bids for the big 4 conference champs, so an upset in a CCG puts someone outside the top 12 in.
Also the highest ranked non P4 team gets in and they probably won’t be in the top 12.

Ok. But if we don’t make the SEC championship game we have no shot at the playoffs. If we win out, make it to the SEC championship and happen to lose, we at least have an argument.
If we lose a 3rd game before the SEC championship we are done.

This isn’t true at all. It’s not guaranteed but we are more likely in if we finish 10-2. Still lots of teams ahead of us may each other and have other hard games.
If we finish10-2 we probably are ranked 9/10 and EXTREMELY likely to be in.

A 3-loss LSU SEC Championship loser is getting left out

If you want to be in the playoff you do. We've got to win out. Can't drop anymore games. If we do win out, I'm pretty sure that puts in the SECCG.

If we had a couple quality, close losses and crushed some top teams I would agree. As it stands, we haven't shown enough to be in a comfortable position as a 10-2 team. I also don't believe 6 SEC teams get in like some talking heads said at the beginning of the season. I bet 4 is more likely.

Most likely. But at least you have an argument with the committee. If you take a 3rd loss before the SEC championship you are done.

If your third loss is in a conference title game, I don’t think it will be held against you.
LSU winning out and playing a 1 loss UGA, UT, or 1 sec loss aTm is better for our playoff chances.

Better if it’s..
UGA & Texas
..and we are sitting at 10-2 with Tennessee.

If LSU wins out, they're in the SECCG. If the tigers drop another regular season game, they're done.
There is no sitting on the sideline at 10-2 for LSU.

It's getting to the point where conference championship games are a negative. Opportunities for injury instead of an extra week to heal and prepare. Risk of getting knocked out while a team that stayed home steals your spot.
Ideally we'd dial back the superconferences and just have everyone play each other once.

Exactly. There's no realistic scenario where LSU makes the playoff without making the SECCG because if LSU wins out they're going to make the SECCG.

I really think the 2 SEC teams in the SECCG will get into the playoffs.
SEC will get definitely get 3 teams in, the loser of SECCG being the 3rd team getting in as maybe a 11 or 12 seed.
LSU has to win out to make it no matter what.
Big 10 has a case for getting 4 team in if Penn St, Oregon and Ohio St win out. They’d have 1 undefeated and 3 teams with just 1 loss going into big 10 cg. Hopefully there’s some chaos there.
Also hoping Ole Miss beats UGA, UTk drop 2 games to Uga and Vandy, and UTx over A&M.

Love the enthusiasm discussing what LSU does or doesn't do in the SEC championship. But acting like Bama is an auto-win is quite retarded.
They've won 5 of the last 7 here and Daniels ain't putting on pads.

It's virtually a lock barring a string of incredible upsets like Auburn over Alabama and Miss State over Ole Miss.
