Derek Meadows wavering?

Saw that Meadows is visiting Michigan and Notre Dame over next 2 weeks. Any news on him wavering?

Also, have seen some boards note that he has had an underwhelming Senior year and LSU may be looking around at other options. Meadows has never had eye-popping stats (run heavy offense) and was highly regarded more based on his measurables.

Any truth to that, or should I just go f myself right now?

Notre Dame board (Irish Envy) mentioned that (see Derek Meadows thread). I know it’s easy to write that off to sour grapes on ND fan’s part, but posters on that board are typically realistic about chances with recruits and tend to lean towards pessimism

I agree with the On3 guys that his film isn’t that impressive anyway.

Cortez hankton couldn’t convince a bunch of fatties to eat free pizza, absolutely pathetic

I have no insight other than to say this paragraph doean't make sense.

If he's in a run heavy offense and is highly regarded because of measurables, why would LSU.back off because of lackluster numbers? Did he shrink?

Posters noted that LSU expected bigger jump in Senior year. Averaging only about 35 yards receiving per game and 4th on team in receptions (as of mid-October). Never expected big numbers, but at least wanted to see improvement to justify the “measurables”. How much of it is the offense/QB, up to LSU to decide

Yea ngl his numbers rlly don’t jump off the screen at all for a top 100 wideout his lack of production is pretty shocking. Imo taron Francis is more college ready. Yes he plays lower comp but he’s been dominating his senior year so far agaisnt LA comp and looks like a complete wr.

I’m split on this recruit too. Ranking doesn’t reflect play on field. Imo they should really spend in the portal for a receiver this offseason. Losing Lacy is gonna be tough.

An oxymoron if I’ve ever seen one.

Truth to it. ND never stopped pushing for him.

Francis reminds me of Duverney, the WR that killed LSU when we played Texas. Built like a running back and playing WR.

That could be mitigated a little if Daniels stays for his COVID year. They are different WRs, but things look a lot better if he, Anderson and Thomas are all back with Parker healthy. Who knows, maybe Hilton plays in more than 3 or 4 games next year, too. It’s a lot easier to add one more guy to that mix and expect one of the younger guys to make the jump and have a great, and very versatile WR unit.

As for him staying, Daniels has had a solid season, especially in terms of his reliability and versatility. But Injuries have definitely held him back from putting his best tape out there. He already got paid something to come here from Liberty. I could see him staying one more season for that rather than putting his draft potential all on the combine and workouts.

Who knows what will happen, but there is at least a possibility that he could stay.

Daniels is definitely coming back. He has not had the season he wanted at all.

To be clear this isn't directed at you but overall, reading this thread concerning this subject is just too ironic to let slide.
So Meadows isn't good enough because his film is lacking yet most around will be throwing shite against the wall to get Jahkeem Stewart who has no film at all. You just can't make up what folks will use as "reasoning". Talent is talent. Film is film. If Meadows has the talent why does the film matter so much? Now use that same logic with Stewart. What's the difference? What changed? The talent is either enough or it's not. Sounds a lot like excuses rather than reasons.
Before the positional debate begins, its not like we have 5* wrs beating down our door to come in. Hanktons been a disappointment as a recruiter. A massive one.

Both 247 and On3 have ND as a favorite to land him now.

If the kid commits from outside the region, I will never consider him a sure thing until he signs

Where do you see that? All I see is old predictions where he picked LSU over the predicted Notre Dame.
