We need another center BAD!!
Theis stats:
vs Bulls 8pts 2rebs 3/5 fg 0/1 3pt 18 mins
vs Blazers 5pts 6rebs 1/4 fg 0/2 3pt 18 mins
vs Blazers 2pts 4 reb 1/2 fg 0/1 3pt 16 mins
vs Warriors 5pts 7reb 2/5fg 0/2 3pt 21 mins
AVG 5pts 4.5reb 7/16fg 0/6 3pt 18 mins
Val Stats
vs Celtics 18pts 5 reb 8/13 fg 0/0 3pt 20 mins (came off the bench)
vs Cavs 10pts 8 reb 4/7 fg 0/0 3pt 21 mins (came off the bench)
vs Hawks 7 pts 9 reb 3/7 fg 0/1 3pt 22 mins
AVG 12pts 7reb 15/27 fg 0/1 3pt 21 mins
I mean this is not justifiable and will be a major hindrance the whole season. Even if/when Missi starts the backup minutes are useless.
Granted there are other flaws with this team but to go into the season with this as your solution for the center position is a disaster.
Griffin vs Loomis .....who is worse and who is more hard headed!!!

Did people really expect theis to produce better than those stats?

We let JV walk for peanuts

A few games ago everyone was shitting on JV and said he needed to go. Which is it?

People are retarded.

This isn't Theis' fault. He's providing exactly what he's done for 10 years. He gives you what he has and sets great screens. The problem is idiots that thought a 6'8" journeyman was sufficient. Complete lack of vision.

People were screaming to let him walk because he didn’t “fit”. Well guess what, nobody fits this team because this team has no clue what they want to do or be. The offense is a jumbled mess. It was last year and it is so far this year. They look like a team that’s never played together before…every season they look like that

would it help if I told you he's playing good for who he is?

Jonas wouldn't fix our ball handling or lack of outside shooting issues much less our piss poor D.
He's not the answer and Theis is not the problem.
I'd rank our issues in order:
1. No effective PG - Jose has been bad and Zion/BI/CJ can't run a motion offense.
2. CJ/Hawk are useless when they can't hit shots.
3. Zero stretch bigs
We need Murray back asap and a trade for a stretch big.

I agree. He's not a starter. He's not a primary backup 5 either.

To remind everyone, he lost the role of backup 5 at two different teams in the last 2 years and was racking up healthy DNPs. The fact that we even brought him here to be a backup 5 was a stupid decision.

What's the point of setting a good screen if the defender guarding you gets to play defense wherever he wants b/c you are no threat to shoot from anywhere on the court and you aren't even a threat rolling to the goal?
We literally are playing 4 on 5 when Theis is on the court b/c his defender has zero care whatsoever about him regardless of where he is on the court. We are forced to have Theis set screens in that offense b/c there's no where else to put him on the court. Theis standing in the corner is worthless, and you might as well just tell him to go get back on defense now and we'll just play 4 on 5.

If by idiots, you mean Griff, then yeah, i agree. This is on him.

It’s pretty obvious to anyone that kept up with the rumors this offseason that Griff was looking to move BI for a top tier 5 to pair with Z,DJ and CJ, problem is nobody wanted Ingram. We also didn’t have the money after the Murray trade to offer to any free agents and were easily outbid.
I have a feeling this season is the one where we make a big in season trade.

It seems in 6 years, nobody fits next to Zion.

Imagine we finally get a game where both Zion and BI score over 30 and we get blown out.
Something is seriously wrong with this organization and it starts at the top.
