He'll get the first shot, or I would think he would. I'm excited to watch with the young LB's how this is going to pan out.

I'm sure he will have first crack. I'm interested to see Theriot's progression as well.

J.Cutura will start next year.

Watching Baker running down on kickoffs I would keep him outside to play in space.

maybe baker can move in for sheppard

You people are nuts! Cutrera is garabge and slow as christmas, do you remeber when beckwith was hurt how bad and slow Cutrera was? always out of postition. Riley will move over to MLB, with Sheppard and Baker on the outside, too much speed. Miles is not that stupid to keep Baker off the field.

I think it will be
SLB: Sheppard
MLB: Riley
WLB: Baker
SLB: Sheppard
MLB: Riley
WLB: Baker

I wonder if chavis will be tempted to move chad to LB
baker and jones on the outside would be lethal

riley at OLB looks out of position to me

he was really a 2 down LB this year, i think he is our best option against a traditional running team at the strong side.

always out of postition
He was almost never out of position..just didn't make the tackle. i think he, Riley and Sheppard played alright together. JC knows the def scheme and puts people into position. We just need a Safety to do the same thing...

Chavis' background is in linebackers.
I really don't remember the linebackers being a strong part of the defense since about the 2005 season or so.
It will be nice to hopefully see this area improve.
