Think about that.

Some of you think Kelly is elite but even if you don't, he's got all the pieces around him to get him there.

Bo Davis, Brad Davis, Baker, Frank, Cortez, Raymond, Sloan (at least as a QB coach) etc.

Kind of wild that we have top tier coaches almost everywhere and still don't look like an elite team on the field at all.

Not sure what to make of that.

It's funny how some of you have convinced yourselves our talent level is on par with Baylor or something.

Losuisana is a wild culture - hard to tame - we can beat anybody or lose to anybody - it is what it is. Saban is the only coach who can tame the culture. He is rare breed who always has foot in gas 24/7. However, I rather live here than anywhere. I love Louisnana culture - it’s unique.

I'm not fully out on Sloan like some are, but pretending like he is an elite OC would be foolish.

Why pick a team that isn’t even in the SEC? Our talent level isn’t on par with UGA, ATM, Bama, and Tenn or Texas. That’s just a fact. Sorry it hurts your feelings. Swinson is probably the only sure fire player that would be starting on any of those teams defenses

Having elite coordinators in college football is HUGE

There's no getting around it, LSU is not elite at OC

When they have been in the past, they've won conference and national titles.

When they're not elite at the DC and OC, they can win ten games but not compete for championships.

Sloan as OC was and is a mistake.

Miles and Orgeron were baboons but when they hit the coordinators, they became elite.

Maybe he is a good QB coach, but he is not a good OC.

This. We shouldn't be allowing a new OC to cut his teeth at LSU.

It was a lazy hire by BK, and done in order to keep Sloan from leaving and/or losing Underwood.

I think the stat that Ive heard is historically only 15% of SEC teams have won back to back road games. Partner that with going into an environment like Kyle field, our team being beat up and not at 100% (Especially not having CJ Daniels and Garrett Dellinger out there for a good portion of the game), horrendous kicking, questionable play calling on offense from an inexperienced coordinator, a first year starting QB who has been good in clutch situations but has been inconsistent with decision making, the offense not executing and capitalizing on the opportunities the defense gives them, and the defensive coaches getting the absolute most out of the talent we have on defense. Its been a wonder that the defense has been able to keep them in the games this far into the season. I could tell after the second interception that Nuss was flustered and the crowd noise was getting to him, the moment got too big for him and he started to play scared.

Go frick yourself.

We have many talented players. The problem is that some of our starters and much of our depth is NOT on par with the SEC best.

We have a winning record. We can beat most teams. But people are complaining about consistently winning 10 games per season.

Right now, we don't have the talent in some position groups and in our depth to exceed 10 wins per season.

But the talent is coming. It's coming in waves.
