Insane traffic issues around San Antonio and Austin

How much of the overcrowding issues on the roadways comes from the fact that millions of undocumented people now reside in the area? Instead of organic population growth which would allow for infrastructure to expand they just dumped a ton of illegal immigrants into the area. Just a theory, is it plausible?

Well we can safely say having thousands of extra drivers using an uninsured Nissan Rogue to somehow tow 2 other cars isn’t helping the situation

I can agree. Except that San Antonio is in desperate need of infrastructure expansion regardless.

I can’t speak to Austin or SA, but in the last four months I’ve noticed something I’ve never really seen before in Georgia: people either walking or biking along the emergency lane on the interstate, usually between 8PM and 6 AM, and usually carrying plastic grocery bags full of something.

Started seeing this a lot in Alabama. I drive I65 quite often and had never seen that before and now it seems to be a thing.

Last weekend near Hammond we saw 2 box trucks with 2 cars piled on top of one another stuffed in the back. The truck's back was wide open and 4 feet of those cars hanging out.
And those box trucks were towing 2 cars each.
And we get stopped for inspection stickers.

I cannot speak for Austin but San Antonio has road construction of everyone of the major roadways in and around the city.

Issue is not traffic, it will be water. Major lakes are at an all time low mark. Everyone thinks it is due to rainfall… it is the fact that tens of thousands of new homes are being built year after year.

TxDot is the biggest reason SAs traffic is an absolute arse whip currently. There are probably about 12 major interstate to interstate interchanges in the the city and about 10 of them are under major construction at the same time. These aren't minor reroutes, these are major muli-year full on new builds, they were needed for sure but better planning could have been done. It is a government agency so that concept doesn't register with them.

Well, they do have the Edwards Aquifer which is home to the snail darter. That aquifer is huge, I mean hugely huge, and the snail darter lives within it. Water for the ages and beyond!!
