He will get booed just like any other opposing team but I’m sure they’ll have some tribute video or something then he’ll get his cheers

the man should be cheered. not many fanbases wouldnt trade for what we had while he was here. you cant blame him for wanting to move away and start a new chapter. how could he live up to what he accomplished with brees? not to mention getting away from shithole new orleans.

The only reason Sean left is to get away from Loomis and his sinking ship. Can’t blame him for that. Won’t be cheering him on either

with the way the saints are playing I don't think many will care about the matchup

Maybe he was tired of Mickey too.

Booed if we were winning and fans cared

Only reason to go now is for Brees and CSP. Cheers will be louder than the boos

He will be cheered, but not enough people realize he was also a main culprit in this teams current mess and that he just quit on the team.

I look at this like Saban... He left the team a lot better than when he came here... A Super Bowl and Championships... People that boo Saban or Payton are idiots... If idiots boo I hope Payton points to the Super Bowl banner...

This. People point to Mickey for a lot of what is wrong with this team/roster, justifiably so. But Payton had his hands in everything when he was here and was the final decision maker on a lot of the decisions, including what players to get in FA and when to move up in the draft-to-draft certain players. Mickey is not innocent in this by any means as he way overspent in both regards, then continued the ways after Payton was gone to get that "1 player we need."

Saban is a little different in that when he came to LSU it was a known fact that he was using LSU as a steppingstone to the NFL. No one predicted he would fail in such glorious fashion and needed back in college. Bama was available (or made themselves available, I don't recall) and was a natural fit for where he wanted to be

Don’t boo him for leaving. Boo him for being 1 of the 2 architects of the saints current predicament through his shite personnel management.

What he accomplished? What about what he DIDN'T accomplish . If he could have fielded a competent fricking defense he would have had more than one Superbowl. His end results the rest of his years a saints coach proves that Greg Williams deserves as much if not more credit than Payton for 2009

It’s such a mixed bag. While yes I’m very thankful for all Payton did, I still won’t forgive him for tanking this team, “retiring,” and then coming back a year later to coach another team. He quit on the Saints and quit on the fans.

I won’t boo him but I’m fine if someone hits him in the head with a full soft drink.

Who cares? Won’t be loud enough for anyone to notice.
