Pretty standard field models. Purchased from Abercrombie & Fitch in NYC. Still have the original case.
Both weapons are 8.5/9 out of 10.
How much for the pair? (I have my number and an inside line on the set) I just want to confirm what I’m thinking. Not exactly a lot of comps out there on the market.

I am guessing more than I could afford.

I once asked my old man about the value of a Belgium Diana grade in our family.
He said it's worth whatever joy you get putting it up on the wall and jacking off to it....
Go with your number if they make you happy, sounds like a nice set....
A call to collectors firearms in Houston may help you confirm where market is on them.

If they’re 1960’s they are not Citori’s. Maybe they’re Superposed?
That might help your search for price. I don’t really know to be honest. I’d guess $1500-2000 each.

Those are not Citories - Browning did not make Citories in the 1960s - the first Citori was made in 1973. Plus, Citories are made in Japan. Those are Browning Superposed. Much better guns than Citori and more valuable. The Citori was introduced as a less expensive version of the Superposed.

Yes, they are. All of the Browning guns made by FN in Belgium are among the finest guns ever made. The quality of workmanship in the old A5s and Superposed is unsurpassed by any of the more modern guns. The Japan made guns are good, but are not nearly as nice as the Belgium made guns.

I realize this is a popular opinion, and people are very passionate about it because thats what grandpa had…however i respectfully disagree.
I Have multiple superposed and citoris as well as a5s, both belgian made and japanese made…the miroku guns fit and finish is on par or better and they are holding up MUCH better over time than their belgian brothers.
Almost Every superposed i handle at shows has a loose forearm…Could be the mileage and not the years butboth of my superposed ( which were bought used) dont lock up as tight as the japanese citoris.
And yes, all of the new stuff is not hand fit like the old days and just rely on computer tolerences, so they dont hold a candle and im not advocating for them…but i stand by statement about the miroku factory made citoris, they are some of the best ever made.
Not insulting your pawpaws gun but i see the belgium browning legens as more myth and lore that was passed down for generations so it must be true…kind of along the same line as you cant use soapy wayer on a black iron pot.
They were exceptional in their day but not without peers or not to be outdone. This is my opinion only, ypure welcome to yours

Yes, my bad. I had Citori on my brain just being a browning over and under. They are Superposed.

I’ve never owned a Superposed or a Citori, but have friends with both and the Superposeds are just nicer guns to me. I own several Belgium made A5s and the fit and finish on those is better than any autoloader made before or since. The Japanese guns are nice, but the fit and finish just doesn’t compare to that of the Belgium made guns. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this.

Id say low end 15K for the pair and high end 28k. Yes that range is wide. But the market for them is too. I have a 12 ga filed model from that era pre citori and I paid around $6500 prob 15 years ago.

That’s a good assessment. Depending on wear, barrel length, wood condition, etc but 25k for the pair should make both sides happy.

Big difference in field grade and Diana or Expedition grades.
