Is it scary at all or just a cheap gore fest?

Would it be worth to see this in theatres?

I have yet to see an Art the Clown movie.

Its a campy gore porn

It's not scary

If that is your thing, its probably worth a watch

I watched parts of the first one and that was enough for me

Side note but who would have thought an unrated (NC-17 if submitted to the MPAA) slasher movie could reach #1 at the box office? I’ve been following the industry the last 20 years and this truly blows my mind. Hell just a few years ago major theaters never would have shown something like this. Goes to show how bad they are hurting.

this. it's more of a fun romp if you're into that sort of thing. All practical effects so impressive in that regard.

Terrifier 2 had some funny parts like the super drawn out bedroom torture sequence. He leaves and you finally think he's finished, then he strolls back in with a bottle of bleach

that kind of pitch black humor

Art is funny. When he pulls out a gun, think it was 1st one. Just lost it

Not scary, just an over the top gore fest with some dark humor. I enjoy them

It’s a slasher that knows exactly what it is, has a great slasher villain in Art the Clown, a good final girl, tons of gore, creative kills, and a lot of dark humor that really lets you know it’s not supposed to be taken seriously. If you’re looking for like a deep a24 type horror this is not that movie. But if you wanna have fun and laugh at blood and gore this is it.

It's definitely better than the 2nd one, but I don't think any sequel will top the original. No budget, no camp, no supernatural bullshite. Just pure brutality & fantastic practical effects

Neither of the first two are very good. But the first one I could at least appreciate as a low budget gore porn type of horror movie. I also don’t think Art is overly good but in a weird way I can see why some people would like him. I will say he has a great “look” for horror though.

The second one was so overly stupid and gory that it took me out of the movie completely and I borderline hated it. I can only deal with character stupidity and gore-for-the-sake-of-gore so much before it just bores me and it’s unenjoyable. But for me it was so bad that (barring me hearing it’s completely great/awesome) I have zero desire to even give the third one a chance.

As for if they are scary, not in the least. But the first one at least semi tries to be though.

I never heard of these movies until like a week ago when I heard there was a 3rd one. A friend of mine suggested watching the first two and while they aren't good movies, it is very gory and violent which intrigued me. Was worth the time IMO.

Watched this tonight, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Probably won’t ever watch again but it had some funny dark humor, and gore galore.

Vicky is scary on a deeply guttural level. Her transformation at the end and the grand reveal really got to me. Great film, tough to ever watch again, but it was terrific. If you like that sort of thing. Check out this short film, Treevenge. Similar dark humor and incredibly gorey.

Met David many years ago before his career as ATC jumped off. He's a Huntsville native.

Still surprises me to this day how successful Terrifier became.

I will say this about it, you will come out of each movie saying this:

There were things that you saw in that movie that you’ve NEVER seen in another movie.

It is crazy how much gore there is in it but also makes you laugh. The terrifier never says a word but you laugh a lot even when he’s killing someone.

Yep. How about that bar scene? Clint Howard was a cool cameo, that whole scene was great.

And at the end in the house, Art repeatedly smacking Sienna in back of the head when he walked by her

When I saw the cameo from Tom Savini…….

I wanted to watch this back in October. I just noticed yesterday that it was available to purchase on AppleTV. It actually worked pretty well as somewhat more of a December “Christmas gore fest” watch instead of Halloween.

I have to say, that’s gotta be hands down the goriest movie I’ve ever seen. As stated by others, it’s not “scary”. Art is more dark humor.

But damn, some of those scenes are tough to watch. That was clearly their goal, and they achieved it. It never really let up from opening scene to the end. Chainsaw part… (no spoilers) holy shite
