Weeks targeting video?

I know it wasn’t ruled targeting, but I didn’t see that part of the game. I’m wondering how close it was. Can anyone post a video?

It was targeting but they made the right move not throwing him out because there was no malicious intent. Purely accidental contact

It’s been removed from the internet for being too violent
Nah, thank God they overturned that weak arse call. Weeks was standing there and hugged Dart. Would have been absurd, but wouldn’t have been the first time LSU got hosed. Big overturn too because there’s no way the defense plays as well as they did in the 2nd half without Weeks.

Weeks simply stood there and stooped over. If anyone was guilty of targeting in that instance it was Dart since he was the only one moving at the time.

Late slide if it was a slide at all. Looked like he was halfway trying to cut and foot slipped. Weeks did nothing wrong.

I would have called it.

Dart was a runner, he ducked his head, and weeks made contact with his helmet with his face mask...not the crown of his helmet. That is not targeting.
Had he made contact with Dart's helmet with his crown, it would have been targeting.

It’s a play that should not be called targeting.
Weeks was not moving and Dart slid into him
That said, I have seen a lot less result in penalty and ejection. Shocked the refs reversed it.
I think the refs made the right call. But still surprised

If Weeks would have been moving forward, it would have been targeting, he was standing still and Dart slid into him. Not forcable contact

If that was Nuss LSU fans would have been crying for a flag

Not targeting. Hit him with his facemask

My best analogy:
quote:
A charging foul, also known more formally as a charge or offensive foul for charging, is an infraction that occurs when an offensive player with or without possession of the basketball creates illegal contact by pushing or moving into the torso of an opponent who establishes and/or maintains a legal guarding position.
The QB initiated the contact.

Thanks all. National radio guys said Lane came over to Weeks and told him it was a clean play.

The announcers explained it best. Weeks has no obligation to move and let Dart slide. He can stand there and as long as he doesn't "lean" forward for hit Dart it's legit.
That's what he did. Just because Dart slid sideways and initiated contact doesn't mean it's targeting.

You really need to get a new text book then.

Here's the thing...anyone that has played D knows this...when you set up to make a tackle you do so in a way that gives you power and not to get hurt yourself. This pansy-arse sliding shite in order to save QB's is the problem that needs addressing. That doesn't advance the game of football. It regresses the game. This why QB's of old were a total package. Toughness matters in the game. That's been removed.
