If so, how did it go (or how is it going) ?

Or at least a meat based diet where you drastically reduced the amount of carbs in your diet ?

Yes, have done it once before a couple years ago and couldn't stick to it.. lost some weight and felt good... Just couldn't fully adapt to it due to lack of food options..

I started it again at the beginning of the summer with a better plan of attack on food and I'm fasting with it .. I'm down 30 plus pounds thus far.. sleep better , feel better.. have plenty of energy... Definitely worth giving a shot .. especially if you're needing to drop a few pounds

Just started a high protein diet (not pure carnivore) but tying to cut out as much ultra processed stuff as possible. Within a few days my arthritic knee felt years younger (yes I am old). I feel much better

No, it’s a fad and it isn’t good for people with predisposed heart issues. It will just amplify those issues.

Ask your personal primary doctor about it.

It was.common amongst me and a few friends and had seen it on reddit as well. Doesn't hurt to be expecting that it might happen

Well considering Dr's have little to no actual study on nutrition you shouldn't take their word as gospel

Your body dumps a shite ton (pin intended) of water weight those first few weeks.. so I guess it all depends on what you were eating before and how your body is trying to rid itself of that unnecessary fluid retention

Did this same Dr. also advise you to take the Covid Shot because it was safe & effective ?
There are a lot of Doctors who support this diet (Shawn Baker), or at least a meat based diet with very few carbs.
Also, Doctors receive very little, if any, training in medical school regarding nutrition.

Yes, I believe they have to have a minimum of 12 hours of basic nutrition.. I have a business degree and have more collegiate training in nutrition that your run of the mill Doc..

It is a relatively dumb diet. There is little special about eating only meat-- the entire crux of the diet is that meat is more filling than other food, so by eating only meat you'll end up in a calorie deficit because you'll get full before you over eat. That's literally all there is to 99% of it.

There is some fringe benefit in that some of the food you cut out - the processed shite - does cause some bloating and carb retention. This is where a lot of the perceived weight loss comes from. You lose a lot of water and carb weight in the first two weeks. That all comes back once you consume carbs again.

The reality is unless you're a fairly wealthy person with a lot of free time it's extremely difficult to sustain the cost and time of cooking a variety of high quality meats that you would actually want to eat for weeks on end.

Like sure, if I could eat ribeyes and filets for every meal of course I'd do it, but that's just not the world most of us live in.

My understanding is that it is a diet based on eating Nutrient Dense Foods that don't cause insulin spikes.
Steak, Salmon, Eggs, Butter etc.
People used to eat a lot of fat and yet they were skinny,
In the 80's people cut out fat & loaded up on carbs because that is what the Government Food Pyramid told them to do, and that is when obesity took off.

Food Industry makes more profit on cereal and snacks than they do on steak & eggs.
