I know jokes might get made, but it was setup to house first responders.

It’s going to need a nice renovation only to be used for a few more seasons.

Is that a tarp roof? I've seen those stadiums that have that soft looking roof but never thought about it being a tarp material like that.

Why a fabric roof? Is that what a lot of the newer stadiums are doing also? Seems in a hurricane prone state you would do something different. I know climate change in the last 20 years is the culprit. Now where is that dam sarcasm button Chicken

I’m not an expert on the matter, of course

My understanding is that it’s easy to cleanup and relatively cheap to replace.

I think it was either the Metrodome or Silverdome years ago, parts of the roof fell in during a snow storm. Before that, I always though it was some kind of panel and not tarp

I’m sure it will be fixed before next season but if it is not, the stadium is still playable.

Metrodome collapsed under snow. Not that uncommon. Same thing happened to the Dakota Dome when it had the fabric roof.

Fabric roof is how all the old homes used to be.

Lucky for them, when they get their new tarped roof that blue is one of the team's colors.

We actually manufacture some of those. It's a heavy duty pe or vinyl. The material is treated and coated specifically to be used as a roof structure and comes with a 15-20 year warranty. It cannot with stand hurricane force winds.
Pricing is not cheap when talking in terms of PE, but cheaper than an actual roof. The real cost is more so in the installlation that the tarps, but knowing it's a major league field someone will up charge the hell out of it.
