Those former officials still have to live in town. Can you imagine the animosity directed at them?

Lololol

they are mad because their elected officials were trying to bring jobs to their area.

lol this place seems like they definitly voted in a bunch of dems.

I don’t know (why they would approve it), other than somebody must be benefitting from it.”

the 2300 people who got jobs

lol

every member they voted out was a republican.

This is why local government is better.

Your mayor has to go to the grocery store eventually.

You can criticize the decision and I get that, but there are probably good reasons the people didn't want that factory there like the enormous resources needed to fight a fire if one broke out in that plant, along with a lot of damage that would ensue and the possibility of toxins in the air etc. Plus, maybe they don't want Chinese influence dictating things in their town.

The people took back control of their city. Seems like a good thing. Republican or Democrat, hubris in politicians is out of control.

No, they weren’t. Try again. Try to shut off the lawyer part of your brain so you can get closer to honesty.

That sounds like a good start. They now need to raze the buildings, salt the earth upon which they stood and then perform an exorcism on the site.

Just did a little research on this subject. The news articles refer to this happening last November. The new board is currently in a lawsuit with Gotion. Not sure what their major complaint is other than the alleged ties to Chinese backed investment. The township only has a population of 3,200 so it could be that many prefer to preserve their small town life. With 2,500 jobs, other developers will start building homes, shopping and retail, etc..Sometimes, residents are just content with their small town life and want to preserve it.
