If you’ve never experienced the fear opponents have in their eyes as they jog across JPS field to the visitor sideline on a crisp fall afternoon on the bayou I feel sorry for you.

I'm rooting for the both of us to be 10-1 on the morning of Saturday, November 30 kicking off at Malone Stadium. Would make for a hell of a game.

As someone who graduated from ULM, the students literally being on top of the visiting team made it easy to get them triggered, despite the lack of a crowd as whole

I really do wish someone had told those announcers that Monroe rhymes with Funroe.

That would be so much fun haha.

I did just look at the slate for that Saturday, and I guess the favorites for Gameday that weekend would be UT-A&M and OSU-Mich. I guess there could be a chance though if both teams are 10-1 heading into that weekend. Let’s make it happen!

Actually, he was very complimentary. To his home newspaper, he said that "That is a good football team," when speaking of ULM. He could have said, "We had a bad night and it cost us." But, he took the tact that JMU lost to a competent opponent.

I don't think he was making fun of nor criticizing the stadium, either.

The smell of truck exhaust and Peking. Airplanes and Indian chants heard for miles. Fans don their marron, gold, or black, or pink.. and from a distance the slightest whimper of a cry…it’s Trent Dilfer….

ULM has got to do something about the high school aluminum stands. The reason the stadium is constructed the way it is, is because that land is between Bayou DeSaird and a swamp and a Edwin Edwards wanted to build a bowl stadium but they couldn't with the technology available in the mid-70s, so they build it on an area solid enough to hold the west side.

The atmosphere at Malone in the 80s and early 90s was awesome for the size of the school and the tailgating was great.

So the Grove is gone completely? That was an awesome place to tailgate back in the day. Feels tragic that they destroyed one of the best places to hang out pre-game. I guess if they had a crystal ball they could have moved that school out on 165 in the building that Centruy/Lumen donated but oh well.

Where do fans tailgate now?
