Good news - no more crime in BR!

I live on a dead end block in a quiet neighborhood. It's rare to see even one cop car. So when six of them rolled past my house will full sirens blaring and lights ablaze, I thought maybe something was up. Turns out, so did all the neighbors.
There are no banks at the end of my street. Or post offices. Or storefront businesses of any kind. It was natural to conclude there was a guy with a gun about to start shooting sxxt up. The neighbors thought the same..And when they got on the PA and demanded that whomever they were addressing surrender himself with his hands in the air, seemed to confirm our suspicions.
Turns out - child's birthday party! Yay! My old neighbor with the Alzheimer's enjoyed having the sxxt scared of her, and who likes to sleep in on a Saturday morning? No one.
By my count - BRPD has 6 too many police units.
