yeah, its bad. my uncle lives in lake lure. luckily their house sits super high up on a hill, so there house is fine. but their boat house is completely underwater. a lot of others are not so lucky. its a shame because its an awesome place.

When rain falls at the rate it has in NC, not a whole lot of infrastructure that would hold that back. Water coming down off those mountains can be fierce.

Some areas were reporting up to 24 inches of rain I believe. That's probably a once in a century type event.

Just think, about 0.25 billion of the $200 billion we have already sent to Ukraine could have been used to upgrade this dam.

Lake Lure is a favorite vacation spot for us- they are in trouble along with all of Western NC mountains. I40 has washed away heading into TN. All time flooding is happening.
