Does anyone have any recommendations for a place to get a trailer hitch installed on my SUV?

TIA

Geralds is pretty accepted as being the standard in BR.

They've done good trailer work for me.

what do you have?

Basically all you do is order the hitch that fits your SUV and bolt it on. 3-4 bolts if I remember right.

Very easy to do.

I'm not the world's greatest handyman, but the YouTube videos I watched made me think it was possible to do on my own. Basically trying to decide if the price to pay someone is worth my potential frustration

I had U haul do one and Kirk’s the other. Happy with both.

You need a Curt 13439(you will have to enlarge 2 holes I think)hitch and the T connector is a 56429(simply plugs inline in the oem harness) you will have to remove some panels inside the back to plug it in.

Just make sure that whatever you are towing isn’t going to be too heavy. It looks like your towing capacity is only 1500lbs.

Also you will likely need them to wire lights for you because I doubt that it’s already wired.

Of course none of this matters if you are just trying to have a bike carrier/cargo hitch carrier or something similar.

Where in OP did you ask, “how to install yourself?”

Yeah I saw that. All I need it for is a small trailer and a 4 wheeler going back and forth from the camp

If this isn't something you do often, it's definitely a multi hour (3+) job. Easy to do a cost-benefit analysis on that. Plus throw in you can blame someone else if it fails.

I've had uhaul install hitches on two of my cars and it was just fine. It's the electrical part to me that's really important and I'd rather someone who does it all day do that.

that was the easy part for me. I bought a harness off of Amazon that hooked to the car battery and plugged in to the taillight harness. It was vehicle specific so I didn't have to cut any existing wires. I ran it under the vehicle and zip tied it in place. Worked really well.

That sounds reasonable. Thanks

Now you're speaking my language I would certainly be made fun of by my wife.

Herb’s Trailers has been putting hitches on our vehicles since the time I started driving in the early 1970’s. Quality folks. I also had Mike Gerald’s do a complete overhaul on my tandem axle boat trailer, and they were great to do business with as well. Can’t go wrong with either IMO.
