The suburban moms/dads and standard of living

Every time we talk about cost of food, rent/mortgage, health insurance, etc...
The one thing that baffles me is the moms who work at schools or in other professional jobs and they make 50-75 K.
I can't wrap my head around the Facebook likes and neighborhood approval from peers being worth crushing your own standard of living as costs go up 10 percent....20 percent....

They’re married to a man who busts his arse to make 6-figures to keep the Amazon boxes coming to the doorstep and luxury of white-guilt for his wife.

No option has a real plan for inflation right now. This isn't a partisan gotcha.
Inflation and our debt/deficit are 2 subjects that don't have any real plans offered by anyone.

Drumph is going to take away their right to kill babies. That’s all that matters.

It’s going to be very interesting if he wins watching everyone furious when we don’t go back to 2019 prices.

This, along with the grandparents footing the bills for vacations and such.

So total random coincidence that inflation rates spiked during 2021-24?
No tie-in to Biden/Harris? Just one of those things?
Past results are a predictor of what would happen under Harris.

DJT lit the fire with the COVID bomb. We may need even be feeling the effects of the Inflation Reduction Act and Build Back Better yet.

Whats Kamala's plan?
What's Trumps plan?
Which one is more feasible?

The country worked better with a strong working class. Nerds have destroyed it.

There was a global pandemic that triggered unprecedented government spending. You should google it.

It was the forced shutdowns that caused most of the problems.
Too bad people didnt listen to the lone voices telling them how badly this would frick up the economy.

Inflation was manageable under Trump, even with his spending. The inflation we are seeing is a direct result of Biden’s attack on energy, mass immigration, locking down the country longer than necessary, and out of control pilfering of our coffers.
It's also retarded to write off all the good Trump did for our economy because of a once in a lifetime planned pandemic. If Trump was not cheated out of 2020, inflation would never have reached the levels it did under Biden.

This is just absurd. There is no possible way that this 20-50% inflation we've seen is due solely to Trump's last 10 months in office and not Biden’s 3.5 years. To even attempt to put this all on Trump reeks of TDS.

Shutting down the economy in 2020, throwing a shite ton of money into the mix was the impetus for massive inflation.
Biden has just kept it going.

No one expects to go back.
We expect to stop rising more than 1-2%.
And we expect real numbers. Not items shifted in and out of the equation just to keep the % down.

Everyone should back out of this thread and watch you two discuss it. That would be a hoot.

Take a look at the level of CC debt right now. The fake plastic money is still allowing them to live the same standard of life. The we will worry about that later mentality is what's going to kill this country.

No...we printed a lot of money in 2020 and 2021.

His major printing took place in 2020. The inflationary effects of that printing were not felt until after he left office.
Now, Biden also printed a ton of money. The scary thing is, as Bunk pointed out, we may not even been feeling the full effects of that spending yet. We may still be feeling some of the inflation from Trump's spending.
