How do you guys think we fill Perk's role?

My guess is that it'll be a combination of bringing Burns inside more and letting Brown play more at Nickel... maybe some more Kylin Jackson?

I think Womack will see more action in spots where Perkins was playing on the EDGE, which was probably about 20% of the time.

I'm not sure if Gilbert or Allen could play that role.

Well run 2 LBs- Penn and Weeks and star in Burns. For short yardage, replace Burns with the other Weeks.

Not to shite on Perkins, but i don't think we try to fill his role. He didn't really have a well defined position. They tried him on the outside. They tried him on the inside. They moved him to Star.

There's not really another guy who has the natural athleticism of Perkins without having a well defined position. So, they'll replace his OLB snaps with the next OLB up. And they'll replace his star snaps with the next star.

It won't be 1 guy, imo.

I meant a combination of Burns playing his role off the ball and Womack playing some of his role at the line of scrimmage.

I'm not sure if it's possible to have Womack, Swinson, and Savion on the field all at the some time, though. Perkins was always a threat to drop into coverage or take a back out of the backfield in man, but I don't think any of those guys can do that.

Part of me thinks the staff was underwhelmed with his production but knew the fanbase would lose their shite if they reduced his snaps.

Respectfully disagree. I think they wanted to reduce his snaps but there is a big elephant in the room if he’s replaced by a freshman/other younger player with the #7, NIL, attitude problems/morale issues…

I think it is a blessing in disguise for the defense yet sad for the young man.

You think they are going to turn Major Burns into a linebacker? Hahaha

They'll be a better defense in 2025 with those additional reps in the meat of the schedule. Hopefully we'll see those rewards later this season.

You think the best position for 6’2” 200 lb Major Burns is linebacker?

Has any other LB played the traditional lb role besides weeks brothers and penn? Haven't seen the freshman play

Time for Toviano to get out of the doghouse and get on the field consistently at S/Star. He has the physical traits to contribute and help the Def. Need to see Womack and Swinson on the field together getting after the qb.

No more worrying about using Perkins like this or that. Lineup, matchup and play LSU D. LFG!

Three talented freshman linebackers should all be worked into the rotation

The production would probably be similar to him at DB
