The best call that BK has made in Baton Rouge has been to go for it on 4th down vs Bama. This season it seems obvious that we do not have the physicality to push a defense back to pick up a 4th down conversion.

Should we stick to field goals if they're within distance and roll outs any other time? I just have zero confidence in our guys making a push these days

If it involves running it up the middle, yes.

Well we sit at 50% on the season 2-4. It sucks the two we missed were at the goal line, but overall we aren’t terrible.

In 23 we were at 40 percent. Stats are a bit skewed due to trailing in games last year and going for some from a distance you normally wouldn’t.

In 22 we were 50 percent.

Those numbers put us on average with the rest of NCAA.

Ole Miss uses an athletic 320 pound DT to either block or run it in. Hmmmm?

Short yardage for many teams these days has become an adventure . Standing a lone running back next to your QB five yards back while there are 9 guys in the box on defense seems to limit yards. Who would have thought? 3 and 2 or 4th and 1 seem to be harder to get than 3rd and 10 these days. LSU's offense is no different . You really need a OC that can think outside the box on this. Some cant even in the pros. Hoping our OC can become more creative going forward on short yardage.

LSU can keep running that play,BK has to learn to run it with Nuss under center.Give the back a running start.

They are 2/4 on 4th down conversions this season and 19/41 during BKs tenure at LSU. Of the two they missed was not due to physicality but a tight end completely whiffing on the backside defender.

3 runs up the middle and then maybe a pass play you barely practice on 4th. The BK Special.

problem there is our base formation is the shotgun. You go under center just for short yardage, you're basically announcing that you are going to run.

We need to get more multiple overall, so the play isn't obvious just by formation

I wouldn’t go absolute either way. You have to figure game situation in.

FWIW, I thought the decision to go on fourth down in the opener against USC was absolutely wrong then and I still do. It was early in the game take the points.

Vs USC-East, it made more sense to go,
especially knowing the QB was hobbled.
