This sounds like they are going back to claiming Anti-vaxxers are insane. They are trying to get Anti-Covid Vax people being lumped in to the all vaxxes are bad crowd. This is one of their last cards to play.

The polio vax in the 50’s killed Oschner’s grandson within 48 hours of him administering it to great fanfare to prove its safety. It was called the Cutter Incident and it got memory holed. SV40 has been the reason all of these viruses have jumped from monkeys to humans. The vax was “grown” on African Green monkeys and Simian Virus 40 causes all sorts of cancers and lethal outcomes.

I read somewhere, about Polio, that it was never deadly. That the great majority of the deaths came from two things:

1. Doctors overdosed patients with aspirin
2. A bacteria that piggybacked onto polio, which could now be easily treated with antibiotics.

So if polio had never been eradicated, it would be a very minor disease that was easily treated.

I have no idea if any of that is true; I’m just telling you what I heard, or read, somewhere.

I have never taken the flu vaccine even though I worked in healthcare and spent a few hours each working day in the ER for a decade.

I have not had the flu since I was about 12 or 13 years old.

I did catch a bunch of other viruses, some from immigrants and some from travelers to foreign countries. Just none of the flu viruses got me. (None of the cool ones with names or fear porn attached either.)

Anecdotes come in all shapes and sizes.

Given the fact that polio is primarily spread by contaminated food and water, chlorine and aseptic technic probably has more to do with diminished polio infections than the polio vaccine.

Right. Preventing polio virus is really effective by not playing in sewerage, disinfecting water and using basic aseptic technique in your daily life.
