Where were you on 9/11

I was living in a loft downtown in Manhattan 12 blocks above WTC getting ready to walk to work.
I heard what I thought was a commuter plane with engine problems go over my building. It was the rattling of the first plane's fan blades as it was gliding to slow down. A few seconds later I heard a low rumble and figured I'd see what happened on the evening news.
Not long after that my elevator operator banged door and shouted that a plane just hit the WTC.
One of my clients lived at Independence Plasa with a view of WTC 1 from his kitchen window. He and his son watched people line up to jump.
An audio guy I knew was below tower 1 recording an interview. He got splattered with blood and guts raining down.

Right outside the student conference center at ULL. I had just gotten out of a computer science class. There was a buzz while everyone tried to figure out what was going on. Once the second plane hit the mood went silent and somber.

East Cameron 60 waiting on crew change. Could see the helicopter coming to get us then they turned around and we had to wait on a crew boat.

Sleeping after working the night shift.
My girlfriend woke me up screaming "We're under attack!"
I thought "What, HERE?"
I got up and saw the second plane hit.

I was in high school and had detention that day. Detention that afternoon was the only class that didn’t have a TV turned on.

Driving back to Louisiana from Oklahoma City after receiving a call earlier that morning that a good friend of mine passed away in a car accident. Listened to what I could on the radio coverage (before satellite radio existed) but didn't not see any of the footage of the terror attacks until later that day.

Gym class.
Remember vividly the principal coming onto the PA system and announcing a plane had hit the World Trade Center.
Walked to my next class that had the TV on watching the news and remember three minutes after the start of the hour bell we all watched plane number 2 hit.

In the only conference room of our office with a TV. We were having our staff meeting. One of the doors was open. People from other departments kept poking their heads in, my boss got annoyed and one was finally bold enough to say they needed the TV. This was after the first plane had hit. We all sat and watched the second plane and then dispersed to call family etc.

In a weekly staff meeting. We stopped and turned on the TV and sat watching for like 2-3 hours.

I was at the Armor School BNCOC for tankers at Ft Kno, KY. We were being tested on clearing, disassembly, assembly and a function check on the M2 50 cal.
As soon as it happened, we got marched back to the day room and I had to call my unit in 1st CAV at Ft Hood, TX to check in. We didn't know if we were going to continue with school or go back to our units to prep for deployment.

Teaching a class of high school juniors and watching two thugs laugh at people jumping out of the buildings before I threw them out into the hall and had them removed by the school resource officer.

Sophomore in high school. School let us out early that day. Just went home and was glued to the TV. Remember my mom came home from work and we just kind of sat and watched in silence almost.
The poster stuckintexas was a volunteer fireman and I'm pretty sure he was n New York at the time and was working near the towers.
