I live in an HOA unfortunately and this has been happening daily for about 6mo now. The dog is some kind of mix of border collie and shepherd from what I can tell.

I have mentioned it to the husband next door but he leaves for work before this starts happening leaving his wife (no pics as she looks like she plays linebacker for the 49ers) and she obviously isn't handling it. If I report it, they get notified that I reported them and will then make my life a living hell (it already is).

Any suggestions outside throwing chocolate over the wall or shooting it with a pellet rifle?

I saw an excellent episode of Reno 911 on this exact situation that could solve your problem

Literally a play by play on what to do

If it is already a living hell what do you have to lose?

My uncle used to soak hotdogs in antifreeze and leave them on the hood of his truck when stray cats were leaving footprints on it. They wouldn’t even make it off the hood.

You could try that but only if the neighbors don’t have cameras

Have dealt with this a few times.

- discuss it with them
- video it happening
- show them, and let them know that if it happens again you will call animal control. Bark collars cost $50
- If it happens again, make good on promise.

They're already making your life miserable, so frick em. Hoist the black flag and deal with it.

never underestimate a dog owner when assuming the rest of the world has no problem dealing with their precious fur baby

So your uncle killed a bunch of innocent animals because they left tiny footprints on a car that he was already leaving out in the elements?

Your uncle is not only a piece of shite, but should probably institutionalized

Talk to them again and suggest a citronella bark collar. They aren't dangerous or give pain. They work. Probably $50. The refills are probably that much now but good news is that when the collar runs out, the dog doesn't realize it until a week or so. I would also put up one of those antibark devices that look like a birdhouse that emits a dog whistle type sound that is supposed to work, never tried that. They also sell more expensive collars that emit a dog whistle when they bark.
