Did anyone else find this question loaded and absolutely irresponsible by the mods?
Even if they asked Harris this, It is a bad question. A yes or no answer here causes serious foreign policy issues to Trump if he wins. I just see it as painting himself into a wall with a yes no answer and he handled it well. Granted they would never ask Harris this nor expect her to answer it.

It is. It is a question he has been asked multiple times by the MIC. They want to get him to slip so he cannot be a good faith negotiator if he becomes president.

I agree with his answer.

I don’t want anyone to win.

I want it to stop

It is an absolutely absurd question. Only a myopic retard would ask that. If you say yes that means possibly committing to a a nuclear exchange with Russia.

Reminds me of when he was asked in one of the debates from a few years ago if he wished the south won the civil war.

Don’t remember if that was 2016 or 2020.

What is winning for Ukraine? I would say the end of the war and they survive. Are they going to whip Russia?

I’m as pro-Ukraine as an American can be, but even I can’t answer that question. It is a loaded question. First they need to define what victory for Ukraine means. If it means regaining Crimea and joining NATO then the answer is no because Putin would let the nukes fly if that were to happen.

No one has ever defined “winning” and Trump should have taken that and shoved it up all their asses. So frustrating that he can’t do that.

If they were honest they would ask, "Do you want the DC military industrial complex to win this war?"

There's several questions, and this is one, that Trumps true and honest answer would be "I don't give a frick either way".

I know he can't do that. But I damn sure wish he would.

He could put a trailer on it to soften the blow. For example:
"I don't give a frick either way. It doesn't help American citizens either way so I really don't care."

It's a debate though - it doesn't shape or define actual foreign policy. You can basically say what you want to get elected and then do something else. That's been politics for forever.

Is there ever a winner in war these days except for the MIC?

The restaurant industry in Florida. I went to visit some friends in South Florida last month. The Starbucks that we stopped at in Aventura must have been owned by someone supporting Ukrainian refugees. The entire staff was 20 something year olds speaking Ukrainian as well as English.

Trump ending the war before his inauguration like he said would be a win for Ukraine. Sure they lose a little territory but they retain most of their territory and their autonomy and can begin to rebuild. If it keeps going they just grind down their soldiers and Russia would likely win in a war of attrition.

The first step in ending war is conversation with your adversary not your allies.
