It's not 100%, but more often that not is accurate.
Easily visible tattoos etc scream bad decision making to me.
Trashy appearance reflective of lack of discipline.
I've met people who defy these stereotypes, but mostly it's accurate.

Sometimes. That used to be very true, but so many guys I know have tats (veterans) and they are super solid.

It's true. If you're a man sitting in a classroom, theater, bus, etc. near a woman you don't know. And she's looking at you with a slit eyed stare and you notice she has short hair....it's a lesbian. Then you look down at the ankle area and see that tattoo and realize you're right again.

Yeah, that's true. But I met a nice girl wearing flannel, big watch and hiking boots on a plane to San Antonio. She was about 18 and I asked her about her trip. She said she was so excited because she was going to buy her first bathing suit and go swimming for the first time.
Me: 'You've never been swimming?"
Her: 'I'm from Alaska."
That explained the clothes she was wearing.

It’s the prison tats that are popular now that I don’t understand.
I wouldn’t have a visible tattoo or sleeve, but there are some that are extremely well done and well thought out. Those don’t bother me.
It’s the kids who look like they got bored and tattooed stick figures on themselves with ball point pens and needles that I don’t understand. The ink looks cheap and chaotic.
