Saw a lot of people were traveling this week out of MSY or BTR so wanted to start this thread now. As of 345pm Monday, all airlines have their waivers posted.

I'd be worried for any flights on wednesday and early thursday morning. Planes would need to arrive for the thursday morning flights on wednesday night which could prove challenging if this storm picks up momentum. Keep an eye out, have your backup flights planned (can you leave early from Nola on Tuesday if they post the waiver tomorrow?), and be flexible.

I'll add waivers as they get posted likely tomorrow

Thanks for posting. I've got an early lunch flight out of BTR heading west so this sounds like I'm going to get fricked.

Thanks for this. Can you explain the waver details? I looked at similar prices for Friday and the prices are doubled. Not sure if even make the trip if my flight gets canceled.

ETA: I’m assuming waivers lock in your current price?

Sure. When an airline posts a waiver due to anticipated weather, that means they're expecting the potential for not operating flights into the airports listed in the given time frame. They'll allow you to make a single change to a nearby airport, different flight times, or another day for free. You can generally use the app, website, or phone system to make these changes (always recommend the app first). Basically, it's a golden ticket to change to any flight you want.

I'd expect waivers to start going up today for Wednesday and Thursday travel

Forecast actually doesn't look bad for Houston on Tuesday- 15mph winds with some showers. I'd be more worried about BR. If United doesn't want the plane to stay overnight in BR on Tuesday night, then they could easily cancel the flight from Houston. Just keep an eye on it, maybe take an earlier flight from Houston if possible?

What time Thursday morning? If it's before 8am, that means your plane needs to come in on Wednesday night which isn't happening based on the current forecast.

Depending on how the updated forecast looks at 10:00, I guess I will start trying to look at different flight options.
I’m flying United to Columbia, SC and there aren’t many options it seems as far as number of flights.

Right... on the path yesterday is was in AR by 1am Thursday, this thing slowed down to only central LA by then. If it were more west, should not be an issue. coming in south of Laffy is gonna be an issue.
