and does that concern you that this technology could easily be used maliciously, if it already hasn’t been.

No, we won't be able to tell real from fake. We are already to that point, particularly with speech replication AI. You can make anyone say anything you want them to say. Soon, video will be just as good.

Clearly the answer is no. People accept doctored photographs and so forth already if it confirms their bias

No. And that is why I don’t understand why people use it.

It needs to go away.

No. And it will be the reason we leave social media.

I am good with it, although I wonder how the attention starved narcissists will be able to cope without their self inflated ego boost that they have gotten for years from strangers.

IDK, does anyone in 2024 think Harry Houdini could actually make himself disappear back when he still walked the earth?

I think of how the MSM, and CIA could perhaps use AI to sway or control public opinion. I mean, it’s not as if they have any real integrity anymore anyway.

In the future, all the real people will have weird fingers and only AI images will be normal.

How many times does the letter ‘r’ appear in the word ‘strawberry?’

I’m a nerd and I’ve studied and built these things

They have these algorithms called GANs, generative adversarial networks, which literally work by continuously training and redoing itself until it can’t be distinguished from a target function.

So if you put your “adversary” network as “indistinguishable to a human”, it keeps failing and retraining automatically until it works and fools everyone..

Works great for generating malware

Yes

Set your oven to 110 instead of 350 next time you bake legs and you will get the same result. Sort of incubation instead of baking.

Musk has been saying, in every interview where the subject comes up, that within the next 4-5 years, at most, that what he knows is in the post research / now developmental stage will change American's every day lives "like nothing in the history of inventions." He adds " especially in the fields of medicine & communication".
