1,000 x this.
That a band who takes as long to release a record as Metallica wasted an entire album cycle on this shite was fricking ridiculous. It was the first album with Metallica’s name on it I didn’t buy.

"The New Cars were a band formed in 2005 by two of the original members of the 1970s/1980s new wave band the Cars. The band was composed of original Cars members Elliot Easton and Greg Hawkes, along with vocalist/guitarist Todd Rundgren, bassist/vocalist Kasim Sulton, and drummer Prairie Prince. The band performed the Cars' songs, some new material, and selections from Rundgren's career."

I know way more of the back story on this than I care to share.
Todd took the job from a good friend of mine, Doug Powell who was initially going to take over as the lead singer. In fact he was over at my house yesterday fussing about how this whole thing went down.
He landed on his feet after being stabbed in the back by the rest of the Cars writing songs for Alan Parsons and in fact shared a few demos with me he hasn't even pitched to AP yet for his next album.
Great guy and I think the train wreck with Todd Rundgren wouldn't have happened had he been allowed to tour.

Interesting. The only problem I have is the name they chose to use. The Cars died with Orr(Whose birthday is today). Can't blame the other guys for trying to earn a living. Ric got all the $ because he wrote the songs.

i mean, they did this at the LSU union back in 84 or 85 and that was the last time rock concerts were allowed there.
