Jesuit N.O. alone has more students than Catholic High School in Baton Rouge.

Even so, the New Orleans area also Rummel, Brother Martin, Holy Cross, De La Salle, Shaw, and St. Augustine.

Baton Rouge has St. Michael, too. Redemptorist closed.

B.R. has Baton Rouge High but New Orleans has Haynes, Ben Franklin, and the Willow School.

There are smaller private schools in both areas.

QUESTION IS THIS:

Where do all the B.R. catholic elementary kids go to high school?

It doesn't seem Catholic and St. Michael are as big as it seems they could be.

There are probably 10-15 catholic elementary/middle schools in the BR metro area that feed CHS

Dunham, Parkview, and Episcopal are all small and are K-12.

NOLA has Newman, Country Day, etc.

U-High--- might be on to something with that one

U-Lab/U-High is K-12 also.

Parkview gets a shite ton of kids from St. George, St. Alyosius, and St. Jude. They all come in 8th to 9th grade.

The K-12 thing is overblown. When I graduated from Parkview there were only like 13 kids that had been there since kindergarten. Most of us got there in 8th and 9th.

Edit: Hell I think there are more Catholics in Parkview high school than Baptists.

A good portion of the girls end up attending St. Joseph's Academy.

90% plus of those three schools go to Catholic or the academy

I’d say less than 10 total from the three schools go to parkview

That was true 20 years ago. Neither CHS or SJA are nearly as exclusive as they used to be.

This isn’t true at all. There are more than 10 that are on the sports teams. Hell there might be close to 10 for baseball (but it’s normally because they couldn’t/wouldnt make the CHS baseball team).

Parkview has like 1200 kids. That's not a small private school for a market this size.
