Today in Barcelona, ??the agreement for Mauricio Pochettino to be the coach of the US national team is expected to be finalized. A message will even be recorded for him to be broadcast when it is officially announced, which could be this afternoon. He will not be in Kansas tomorrow for the match against Canada, but he is expected on Tuesday in Cincinnati, where he will watch the game against New Zealand. He will debut in Austin against Panama on October 12, three days before his first classic against Mexico in Guadalajara.

I would imagine this gets announced tomorrow before or during the USMNT vs Canada Game.

Would be a deathblow for the USMNT if they are leaking a name like Poch, and then hire some unknown.
No chance that is what is happening.
I think what is happening is that we jumped the gun on leaking the Poch news where he agreed in principle, but nothing was signed, so now Poch's agency is being smart as shite and holding a gun to the USSF for even more money/autonomy because they know just how stupid they will look if Poch isn't announced after all this.

So the same as it has always been? Actually, making it out of the group just the new round of 32 would be below what are usually World Cup expectations are i.e. top 16
The expectation should be higher than that. We should be shooting for a quarterfinal run at the very least. But our player pool needs a refresh in a bad way.
