Participation is at an all time low, so just kinda brainstorming here.

1. Continue as is

2. Take a break until 2025

3. Competition has run its course

Several of our regular contenders have not participated in 6 or so months if my memory serves me well here, and a couple have seemingly quit the board altogether.

Is that due to the particular challenge this last go around? Or is a lack of interest in general?

Perhaps I would suggest a longer entry window? Maybe an entire month?

Not sure of that would increase entries, and that create different issues of people stealing ideas or something.

Just a thought.

Like 5+ of the older regular submitters no longer participate anymore, so I don't know that it is necessarily due to the theme this go-round.

I'm with Dick Cheese here, I don't want to see them go away. I think summer is a tough time for the Challenges. People are on vacation and may not be visiting the board as much. Also, it's been hot AF and that makes it hard to get motivated to cook something.(For me anyway) Maybe we could make the challenges seasonal. That way we can use the best ingredients at the time they are the freshest. Crawfish season challenge, Thanksgiving Challenge, Mardi Gras Challenge, etc. Just my 2 cents. And no, this is not an endorsement for a Pumpkin Spice Season Challenge.

Awww the great Mexican food challenge that caused one hell of a mess
:Mad dog did this gif:
I haven’t posted since then in a challenge (still love ya Darla) but not out of spite, just got bored with em but always enjoyed doing them, and LL winning again just pulled me out of retirement
Just my 2 cents, I’d say do them every 3 months beginning 25
And maybe scrap the “used ingredients” list and open it back up to whatever the winner wants
But definitely don’t want it to go away

Seems like it, unfortunately. I thought I remembered a lot of folks getting excited for this one, but the participation was not there.

For me personally, moving across the country combined with having a picky as shite 4 year old really killed my drive to cook creative or time consuming things. I am hoping that turns around, but not really sure.
