This film just premiered at the Venice Film Festival to rave reviews, with some critics comparing it favorably to such films as The Godfather and There Will Be Blood. The film follows two European refugees (Brody and Jones) who flee to the United States shortly after the conclusion of World War II. The film follows the rise and fall of their family as they witness the U.S. enter the modern era.
IMDB
I’m actually looking forward to this one.

So “A Marriage Story” but as a historical drama?
Hollywood loves familial tragedy porn.

Oh, another WWII movie

Yes, a WWII movie that spends virtually all of its almost 4 hours in America, after WWII is over. Good call.

The movie begins in the year 1947 - two years after the war ended. So...no, not another WWII movie.

Why is there no trailer for this?

Probably because there is no distributor for this film yet. That's why they are playing it at the film festival, likely trying to get a buyer to distribute the film.
Once that's on board, the studio would create a trailer and merleting. Right now, they're just in the 'let's hope someone buys this' phase.
Problem is, not much of a demand for a 4 hour historical family melodrama these days.

The next Brady Corbet movie. Should be interesting at the very least.

One of the specialty studios will purchase the distribution rights at Venice and put it into theaters in a limited release. It’s got a lot of Oscar buzz surrounding it now so it’ll be in demand.

Watching this now
It’s pretty solid
Hot take: more movies should have intermissions. This is fantastic. 15 minutes to get up and stretch and pee and get a refill. Without missing anything .

An actual film. Well worth the price of admission. Brody excels through the weirdness.

He’s motivated by the thought of kissing Halle Berry again
