How TF does one sign an NIL deal to a place he hasn’t even signed a LOI to? He just got his formal offer 3 weeks ago.

Do you think his NIL deal is directly with LSU?

Gotta love the publicity. Come to LSU, compete for championships, and sign record-setting NIL deals.

Aren't NIL deals signed with 3rd parties, so what would signing the LOI have to do with any of it?

The two guys who have offered my son NIL were the CFOs of each football program…so yea…a collective might be the one cutting the check, but the fella explaining your valuation, what you have to do for the money, when you get the money…sits in an office in the operations building and is employed by the school.

Plenty of deals fly outside the collectives. If a kid signs NIL before signing with a school it's almost certainly a national brand like Gatorade or Under Armor or along those lines.

Ah, they wouldn’t really give a shite where he plays. Just ink him early.
Never thought about outside companies…need to do research.
The collectives seem more cut and dry.

Who is your son and what schools have offered him NIL?

What does that have to do with Berry signing his LOI?

Your son is a fricking punter not the #1 RB in the country

We no fricking shite. Best kicker in the country =\= best RB in the country…gotcha.
I fail to see how that matters.
When it gets closer to signing day I guess we’ll see if the mysterious phone calls start. We only talk to school employees so far.

Because no one gives a shite about your son, especially a company like Beats, Nike, etc.
No one is taking your word on how the recruitment of a 5 star number 1 RB goes just because you have talked to the Southeastern Missouri State athletic director’s secretary.

Think of how many kickers you've seen with actual endorsements in the history of football. Think of how many running backs. Being the #1 back in the country he could actually get a deal besides the regular slush fund money used to buy recruits.

The Collectives were the after-thought of the original intent of NIL. It was all about the individual athlete getting paid for their own Name Image and Likeness. There have been a ton of athletes in the past who would have qualified for this. NIL gave them the ability to earn that money legally. Commercials or Print Ads are a direct connection to earning NIL money.

I understand your son his highly regarded, but as others have said, a name brand cares much more about the #1 RB in the country than the #1 kicker in the country.
Cooper Flagg (Duke basketball signee, likely #1 overall pick in the '25 NBA draft) just signed an NIL deal with New Balance. It has nothing to do with Duke or their collective. As a matter of fact, Duke is probably a little annoyed seeing as they're a Nike school.
Berry will get an offer from LSU's collective. He, being a 5 star and #1 RB in the country, will likely get offers from Nike, Beats, Coca-Cola, State Farm, etc. Maybe not that level of company, but you get my point.
Side note - have you seen Petrino ride his motorcycle into the facility yet?
