I’ve transitioned to a crossbow. Left shoulder won’t allow me to draw a bow.
Crossbow is shooting rt at 320fps.
Expandables or fixed blade? What heads are you guys getting results with?

Daughter killed one a couple of years ago with a rage 3 blade with the collar. 50yd shot hard quartering away went in the guts broke the scapula on the far side and lodged under the skin.
Doe ran 50-75 yards and piled up, no blood but I was impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to shoot one with it if I lost an arm or nuts. Jk
I practiced some with a 3 blade muzzy fixed and out to 40yd it shot real well.

Check out Lusk Archery Outdoors. He does reviews on all sorts of broadheads based on his set of tests. Not all tests may be important to you, but you might find them interesting and useful. I'd say one of the most important ones is flight switching from field point to broadhead. He shoots with the field point first and then the broadhead, using a crossbow.
He does sharpness, durability, penetration, etc. Check the videos out and see what you may want to try. Here's his review on the QAD Exodus.

Grim reaper crossbow mechanicals are legit. I got real mad at the deer for a few years and bought a ravin that was shooting 455fps. I shot the grim reapers and never had one open in flight. Killed them dead dead too, with good blood trails.

I use a 3 blade fixed but I am not trying to shoot long distances.

I really like the Muzzy Trocar. Has a fixed blade and a mechanical.

Do you use the mega meat in a crossbow? I’ve had other mechanicals fail on me using the Ravin.

I have been using the NAP spitfire in my Ravin the last few years and haven't had one open in flight nor fail to kill the deer.

I do not, but they’re made for crossbow. The results are devastating.

Id definitely shoot mechanicals as ive always had a hard time getting fix blades to consistently fly true in the newer high speed bows. We've always shot grim reaper in my kids cross bows but my bow shop was out last year and we tried the slick trick Torch. Very impressed with them. Left great holes and blood and 2 of the 3 were able to be reused. Only reason one wasnt was bc it was a spine shot and the deer flipped onto the arrow and broke a blade.

This. I’m 5/5 with these. Furthest a deer ran was 100 yards. The rest ran between 20-75 yds.

Rage Trypan has outperformed any of the others in my personal experiences.

+1 for Muzzy Trocar. I used the fixed blade 125-grain broadheads. They have a good cutting diameter (1 3/16" IIRC) and fly great. 2 shots, 2 kills for me. First at 25 yards, second at around 40.
