Playing Lil Wayne’s ‘Right Above It’ before the national championship. Not sure why, but it really gets me going. Ten more days y’all

Yes they did. Clemson’s band was weird as hell and a little Aggie-ish and TGBFTL showed them up that night.

Band was electric all night and responsible for one of the greatest moments in LSU football history

This video evokes some sort of emotion internally for me that I can’t quite put into words. Not sure if it’s because I feel like we as fans will never experience a night like that (an accumulation of an absolutely PERFECT season) or if it’s because of something else… but it’s an all timer for me

My favorite band moment: 2001 SEC Championship game.
Tennessee was #2 with a Rose Bowl national championship matchup locked up with a win. Their fans showed up in force, as they outnumbered us 7:1 easily, with LSU fans basically just a small pie piece in the corner of the Georgia Dome that night. All the Tenn fans were waiving roses, and the rough first half had their band playing Rocky Top over and over again. Rohan Davey got knocked out of the game with an injury right before halftime
Though the LSU fans were outnumbered, we were boisterous at our first SEC Championship game, and first chance for a conference title since 1988. The LSU band took to the field as they were second to perform at halftime. At the end of their performance, they played the LSU 4th Qtr/Entrance song and walked off the field and grouped up right in the corner where the LSU section was. That fired up the LSU fans, and the team rallied around the OG #18 Freshman QB Matt Mauck with some tough running and tough defense to come back and stun the #2 Vols, ruining their chance at a national title.
The entire first half you heard Rocky Top over and over. The entire 2nd half, especially the 4th Qtr, the LSU band played the 4th qtr song over and over. The Fans and the Band helped change the momentum and fired up the LSU team that night. They played their hearts out that day. I couldn't talk for a week after all of that screaming and throwing sugar cubes down onto the Georgia Dome field. It was glorious. The days before piped in music or camera phones, when the bands and fans were all you had, all you needed.
2001 SEC Championship Game
The quality is crap, but you can hear at the 2:04:56 mark when the band is finishing up in the corner. Then the 2nd half we stomped them.

There is nothing more College Football than a good band.
The more shite blares from the speakers, the more NFL it gets.
Hearing the tuba and drumline is always awesome.

Thanks for posting. We were unable to hear a lot of the band playing where we were that night.
Just want to add that I’m so pumped for next weekend that I’ve already been packed for 3 days

Agreed…I teared up as I watched it just now.
I actually didn’t know that was a lil Wayne song. That is my favorite song that the band plays. I love to hear it because they typically play it when the game is well at hand and I am relaxing high in the west upper! It is just a grand view of the whole event.
I can’t wait to hear it again!
