Other parishes are shipping their drug addicts and homeless to NOLA to get rid of them.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a Dr. around Shreveport. What’s been happening is the cops have been rounding up their local addicts and once in jail they ship them to the hospitals. At the hospital the Drs then tell them jail or treatment which isn’t enforced. They ship them out on a one way ticket to NOLA for treatment and leave just to get rid of them without actually making sure they are getting that treatment but just to get rid of them.

Excellent way of fixing their problem. Now if New Orleans was smart they would then send them to California for treatment with a one-way bus ticket.

Common practice. As much as NYC politicians bitch ab out this practice, they were one of the early adopters. They used to fly their homeless all over the country.
Happens here too. The villages ship their inebriates and criminals off to Juneau via ferry.

We literally don’t I live not too far from a homeless camp on calliope st. They forced them to pick their shite up weekly but the return the next day. They don’t get shite but meals that people donate.

The courts offer them treatment instead of jail. Many are sent to Baton Rouge as well. It’s enforced and they serve their sentences if they are non-compliant

I’ve been wondering why I’ve been seeing an increase in disgusting looking homeless. We usually have to crazies and your typical bums. Now I’ve been seeing the gross meth addict who look like zombies and pick at their skin and can barely walk in a straight line. Absolutely gross and we never had a meth problem now we have all you gross disgusting meth addicts mixed with our usual annoying mental patients.

New Orleans has been trying as of late. Because of the Super Bowl not because they actually want to do anything, but still, they have been trying.
Cleared out most of the major encampments, been clearing out under the overpasses weekly, put up fences on many of the places that they used to congregate.
Its much better but still shite
