Currently I'm on Spectrum mobile (it's been okay but service isn't great in my area without wifi) but my promotion period ended so in looking to switch to save a little money. How's is your experience with Mint if you have used it? SE Louisiana area

With Ryan Reynolds as their spokesman/former owner, I assumed they were only available in Canada.

Works well in Houston. Terrible in rural hill country. Still sticking with it since my bill is $15 compared to $80 with Verizon

They offer a 5 day free trial SIM card at Best Buy so I’d suggest you do that and see how the service is where you’re at

No but I have an extra phone that I use from time to time and signed up with Visible Wireless owned by Verizon. I have At&t on my main phone and looking for cheaper plan myself so I tried Visible. They have 2 plans $25 and $40 per month. Only thing I hate is everything is done on-line. No store front or number to call and talk with an agent. 100% chat only. Seems to have good coverage.

I’ve had mint for 3 months now. Zero complaints. If anything I think the service might be slightly better in BR than Verizon was.
It does seem to be not as strong in real rural areas.
Mint is just TMobile towers.
Visible is Verizon.
Both are a lot cheaper than the big guy and use the same frickin towers.

Got it on free trial when I lived in boonies. Didn't have service. Got visible and it worked so well I’ve still kept it when I moved into town.
$30/mo flat unlimited everything, piggybacks off verizon

We had one dedicated phone that was just for internet hotspot. There was zero infrastructure, our only other option was HughesNet satellite. Starlink had to wait a freaking year. It was not good, not very fast, but able to stream and use smart tv and still better than Hughesnet which is dialup-tier atrocious

Our kids emergency phone is through mint. It works well in populated areas, but not so much out in the sticks.

I've had Mint in Pittsburgh, Houston and all the small towns between Houston and Baton Rouge. Never had any issues with coverage. I'm not sure how rural some of these other responses are talking about but I've been very happy with Mint since I've had it.

i have it, works just as well or better than verizon in both BR and Nola. No issues on I-10 either. Well worth it imo.

I was on T-Mobile and switched to Mint about two weeks ago (Houston.) The coverage is the same as T-Mobile, as Mint is owned by T-Mobile. I haven't noticed any difference. I've driven plenty of times on back-ish roads between Houston and Dallas and only went without service for 2-3 minutes, but it was the kind of nowhere where all the wind turbines are installed (maybe 40m from I-35.)
