I'm wondering if this is something at least a little special. I've always liked va techs pregame and the teams eblntrance onto the field . Are fireworks special to any of yall?

Pregame at Va Tech in Lane Stadium is pretty badass. The whole stadium starts jumping up and down, the football come out with the Va Tech flags and the state of Virginia flag. They have fireworks and everything just gets you in the mood for a great game of football. Va Tech should be an SEC school.

I’ve been pounding this drum for years now! About as long as I was pounding the OU and Texas drum.

VT is a perfect cultural fit for SEC FB.

I wouldn’t be upset if they got rid of them, but it looks awesome at night.

Also included it on the “100 years” poster

The best part about it is it gives that smoky haze to the stadium for a lot of the first quarter.

I don’t have an exact number, but plenty of power conference schools do it these days. It was more rare in the early 2000s before the first round of conference realignment. Those new tv contracts and the money that came with it changed everything.

It's funny to me how any time someone makes a thread like this with a question on it ,it gets downvoted. Next time you see a thread started with a question in the title ,look and see, I guarantee it's heavily downvoted.

I remember in the 80’s fireworks going off in the vicinity of the PMAC after entrance and touchdowns. Then we went a decade or so with none, then it came back and I felt the nostalgia ever since.

Was it A&M last year that the wind kept them in stadium a prolonged period of time?

And that was a day game which made it cooler

I agree that it’s dumb when people downvote people asking questions, because those often end up being the best threads. Especially in the off-seasons. I would add that the only time they are not downvoted is when they answer their own question with a cool answer.
